“Talley’s Folly,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by American playwright Lanford Wilson, will kick off the new year at Kelsey Theatre on the campus of Mercer County Community College 1200 Old Trenton Road in West Windsor. Presented by PinnWorth Productions, performances begin Friday, January 7 and run weekends through Sunday, January 16. 

In 1944, MGM debuted a new family classic for the ages, the beloved movie musical, Meet Me In St. Louis. Starring Judy Garland, the film plays host to numerous classic songs including its title ditty, 'The Trolley Song,' and 'The Boy Next Door,' but out of all the gems that make up its score, no song has had more impact than, 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.' 

Join veterans Bob Wallace (Matthew Jeans) and Phil Davis (Dan Burton) as fuelled by love, the all singing, all dancing duo follow the stunning Haynes Sisters, Betty & Judy (Jessica Daley & Emily Langham) to a Vermont lodge for a special Christmas show. Their journey takes a misstep, and their rhythm is thrown off when they discover the lodge happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's old Army General (Duncan Smith) and is in desperate need of their help.

Syracuse Stage is one of only a few theatres across the country currently producing stage productions. The first production of their mainstage season is Talley’s Folly under the always superb and detailed direction of Syracuse Stage’s Artistic Director Robert Hupp. This fully staged production of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play has been filmed and is now available to patrons online through video on demand streaming.

Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play takes place in a deserted Victorian boathouse on the Talley place in Lebanon, Missouri in 1944. Matt Friedman, an accountant from St. Louis, has arrived to plead his love to Sally Talley, the susceptible but uncertain daughter of the family. Bookish, erudite, totally honest, and delightfully funny, Matt refuses to accept Sally's rebuffs and her fears that her family would never approve of their marriage. Irish Repertory Theatre announced today that Meet Me in St. Louis: A Holiday Special in Song and on Screen will join their fall 2020 season. Meet Me in St. Louis features a book by Hugh Wheeler, songs by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, and is based on 'The Kensington Stories' by Sally Benson and the MGM motion picture Meet Me in St. Louis.
