Black Bat Productions announced the world premiere of ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK, a new play by Nathaniel Brimmer-Beller exploring medically assisted dying, directed by Mimi Harlow Robinson at The Glitch in Waterloo.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee honored Grammy-nominated opera producer Beth Morrison and MOMIX founder Moses Pendleton with honorary doctorates at its commencement ceremony, where 246 graduates from around the world gathered at the Berklee Performance Center.

One of Chicago’s newest entertainment venues, Stars & Garters (3914 N. Clark St.), has announced its inaugural season, featuring an eclectic mix of comedy, improvisation, burlesque, drag, and variety shows.

The catchy doo-wop and early rock n’ roll style of music alongside the fashion and other paraphernalia of the the 1950s give a nostalgic feeling for this classic show, but this production of Grease still has a necessary edge to make this show successful.

There's something inherently magical about outdoor theatre, especially when the theatre is in such beautiful surroundings as Kilworth House's. Watching Rydell High's disco ball throw tiny swirling lights across the theatre's tented roof as the cast hand-jive beneath it and night falls outside, it's easy to find yourself transported back to the 1950s in this crowd-pleasing production of Grease.

Up next at New Jewish Theatre is Wendy Wasserstein’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony winning play The Heidi Chronicles, a semi-autobiographical story of Wasserstein’s life experiences over three decades. The play is considered groundbreaking for its examination of feminism, the changing roles of women, relationships, social consciousness, and shifting cultural norms. The comedic drama premiered Off-Broadway in 1988 before transferring to Broadway where it played 622 performances.  

The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.

The RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE STAR Alexis Michelle returned to Joe's Pub for another delightful cabaret. The show takes you on a trip down memory lane with mostly 60s and 70s songs, and an encore performance on 6/8.

This June an exciting new production of the iconic rock ‘n' roll musical Grease is set to get the Pitlochry Festival Theatre 2025 Auditorium Season off to a classic start when it opens at Scotland's Theatre in the Hills from 18 June until 27 September.

Grease was first staged in 1971, with music, lyrics, and a book by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. It had its debut on Broadway in 1972 until it was eventually adapted into a movie starring John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John in 1978. This play and its consequent movie were a cultural icon, with songs that persist through time and are deeply rooted in modern pop culture. And for the first time, in 2025, it was performed in Jakarta, Indonesia.
