Actors Technique NY/ATNY (Todd Etelson and Carl Anthony Tramon, Producers), will present the Post-Broadway Manhattan Premiere of _Matilda: The Musical_, based on the novel by Roald Dahl with a book adapted by Dennis Kelly, and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. Every kid's favorite fable will be brought to life in an inventive new turn on the story with the help of a member of the original Broadway production, along with other Broadway veterans who have all joined with ATNY, the premiere acting school in NYC, and some of the most astonishing young talent in the country.

The Costume Designers Guild announced today that Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron will be honored with the Spotlight Award, Academy Award-winning screenwriter, director and producer Adam McKay will be bestowed the Distinguished Collaborator Award, and former owner of Bill Hargate Costumes Mary Ellen Fields will receive the Distinguished Service Award at the 22nd CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards). The cast album for the critically acclaimed Broadway production of David Byrne's American Utopia, has been released today, with music and lyrics by David Byrne. It is available now via the Nonesuch Store, iTunes, Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital service providers. The two-CD version will be released on November 22 and is available to pre-order in the Nonesuch Store; a vinyl edition will be available this winter. The cast recording track list is below.

Comedian Doug Mellard is returning to Santa Fe fresh off his performances at Santa Fe's own first annual Cloudtop Comedy Festival to perform at Teatro Paraguas on Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 PM

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for the Bay Area premiere of Groundhog Day the Musical, the hit Broadway comedy adapted from the timeless Bill Murray film. Danny Rubin, co-writer of the 1993 film, wrote the book, with music and lyrics supplied by Tony-winner Tim Minchin (Matilda). Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Nicole Helfer.

Alex Turner Productions and Trish Wadley Productions, in association with Park Theatre, today announce the 10th anniversary revival of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park. The production opens on 30 March, with previews from 25 March, and runs until 2 May.

Tony winning singer and actress Diahann Carroll has died Friday at the age of 84.The Broadway community mourns the loss of beloved performer, pioneer, and Tony Award winner Diahann Carroll, who passed away on October 4, 2019 at age 84. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of the American Airlines, Broadhurst, Helen Hayes, Hudson, Marquis, New Amsterdam, Samuel J. Friedman, St. James, and Vivian Beaumont Theatres in New York for one minute on Wednesday, October 16th at exactly 7:45pm.

The new celebrity cast is adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the show kicks off MONDAY, SEPT. 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. For the first time ever, viewers will have to tune in to the season premiere to find out with whom their favorite professional dancers are paired. This season also features the return of a loved pro, Peta Murgatroyd, and two new professional ballroom dancers. Episodes can also be viewed the next day on ABC.com, the ABC app and Hulu.

Australian theatre artist Ningali Lawford-Wolf passed away on 11th August during the run of The Secret River at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Christian Rodrigo first professional theater project was as an Assistant Director of John Malkovich in 2003 and 2004 when he directed the play Hysteria in Barcelona and Madrid. The Spanish actor, producer, director and member of The Actors' Gang credits include Snatch (Season 2), No Way Out, Wings and Stevie. Perhaps his most noteworthy artistic creation is The BRISK FESTIVAL, which he created in Los Angeles in 2018 as an international theater Festival that features short plays up to 10 min long, giving all involved the opportunity to experience what makes live theater so special, namely the human interaction between the players on stage and between actors and audience members.

Following the Mystic Valley Band's recent reunion shows and a cover of his 2013 song “Dominos” on the critically acclaimed Better Oblivion Community Center album (which was the only one non-original Oberst/Bridgers composition), Taylor Hollingsworth's (Conor Oberst & the Mystic Valley Band, Dead Fingers, The Dexateens) new LP Tap Dancin' Daddy is out August 2, 2019 on Flower Moon Records (the LA based label founded by Maria Taylor of Azure Ray).Today Taylor Hollingsworth shared the title track from the forthcoming release with PopMatters. About the song, PopMatters says, 'There's something beautifully fragile in Hollingsworth's performance on a song that calls to mind a '70s solo record from former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman or the country colors of Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance. And though it's a contemporary song, not a throwback, there is something about Hollingsworth's sincerity and the familiarity of the tale he tells that makes this a tune for any time.'

There's that sludgy guitar, smug harmonica and even what sounds like a washboard breakdown, but there's also weird pedal effects and a synthetic organ. Hollingsworth sings the blues in his gritty, old-school alto, repeating 'I've got the devil in me' until it sounds like he's finally expunged the evil from his insides.'

Red Bull Theater today announced that Tom Riis Farrell, Glenn Fleshler, and Alice Ripley would join the next REVELATION READING, Ben Jonson's THE ALCHEMIST, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Jesse Berger, along with the previously announced Duane Boutte, Christopher Fitzgerald, John Glover, Tracie Lane, Teresa Avia Lim, Euan Morton, Noah Robbins, Steve Rosen, and Spiff Weigand.

Agatha Christie's legendary murder mystery, The Mousetrap heads to Theatre Royal Brighton this summer from Mon 1 - Sat 6 July. The show stars Gwyneth Strong (Only Fools and Horses) as Mrs Boyle, directed by Gareth Armstrong.
