Rain Broadway

Based on a story by W. Somerset Maugham

RAIN, the acclaimed Beatles concert, returns by popular demand, direct from Broadway! They look like them and they sound just like them! "The next best thing to seeing The Beatles," raves the Denver Post. All the music and vocals are performed totally live! RAIN covers The Beatles from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60s and their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. RAIN is a multi-media, multi-dimensional experience...a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups. "A thrilling bit of time-warping nostalgia...Boomer Heaven!" raves The Fort Worth StarTelegram. "Uncanny! RAIN are a quartet of fine musicians in their own right...as The Beatles, they triumph!: cheers the Boston Herald. "An adoring Valentine to The Beatles," declares the Washington Post. Sing along with your family and friends to such favorites as "Let It Be," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Can't Buy Me Love,: and relive Beatlemania from Ed Sullivan to Abbey Road!

From famous to homeless to fearless! Jervis is a former MD of EMI's South African Music label, (where he looked after careers as diverse as Brenda Fassie and Steve Hofmeyr), winner of SABC's 1983 National Television Talent Show Follow that Star with his group The Soft Shoes and his self-penned hit Elvis Astaire, writer of the musicals Scribble, which was nomination for 5 Naledi Theatre awards and A Town called Fokol-Lutho (amongst others) and more importantly, a talented dog whisperer! In between all this writing activity, Jervis also wrote off a few cars, resulting in a three week coma in one and a severe head injury in another. These conspired to derail him for almost two decades. Now safely back on track, this show tells his story (thus far). And in it Jervis delivers a truly original performance. Since it's sold out and extended run here in February the show has enjoyed successful outings at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg and The Hilton Arts Festival. He is a superb storyteller, a world class songwriter with a very unusual razor sharp wit. The reviews tell it like it is! So don't miss it

Hailed as a a?oenear-perfect movie musical,a?? Singin' in the Rain is nonetheless a challenge for companies mounting a full-scale version of it a?oelive and onstage.a?? It's not just about making it rain onstage during the show's eponymous song and dance number, but more about capturing the magic of bringing movies to life without all the technical wizardry of a film studio at one's behest.

This Friday, Chicago-based post-punk trio Luggage will release their third full-length, Shift.  Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago with Matthew Barnhart (Shearwater, The New Year) as engineer, the album was recorded almost entirely live (with the exception of vocals and a few minor overdubbed embellishments). As a result, Shift bears Electrical Audio's trademark hi-fidelity perfection and organic purity. The band members' disciplined restraint and frequency-specific contributions allow the listener to hear every instrument, every nuance, and every tonal deviation. The calculated limitations on Shift not only serve to capture Luggage in their purest state, they capture the entire essence of Chicago. It's as imposing, rigid, and cold as their environment, but also thrives with life within the confines of its monolithic constructions.  Stream Shift in its entirety, ahead of its November 22 street date, now on Treble Zine.

After years on the food truck and festival scene, Sweet Chili has found a home in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Most New Yorkers remember Sweet Chili as their favorite food truck. But come this November, Top Chef fans and Brooklynnites can grab their grub directly from the Sweet Chili restaurant. Sweet Chili will be officially open for business on November 15 and is located at 1045 Flushing Avenue in Bushwick, New York. 'Sweet Chili in food truck form wasn't doing our customers justice,' said Chef Lisa. She continued, 'The food truck was fun and mobile, so we could always reach our customers. But having a brick and mortar restaurant will allow us to serve a larger variety of foods and flavors. You're going to be excited about what's coming out of our kitchen.' Chef Lisa has built a cult following in New York City and it's not hard to see why. Before starting the Sweet Chili brand in 2013, Chef Lisa was a well-known staple in the city's fine dining scene, and known for her bold flavors. Chef Lisa has served as chef at Asia de Cuba, Rain, Dos Caminos and Public - a Michelin starred establishment. 'Brooklyn is one of the most exciting places for food right now. And we are excited to be joining the pantheon of great restaurants,' said Chef Fernandes. 'We did notice a gap in the current brunch offerings in Bushwick itself and we want to be 'go-to' for locals who want something different from the usual bacon and egg breakfast.' Sweet Chili's brunch options are unique but approachable, with dishes such as rice cakes with chinese sausage and a honey chili sauce, pork belly bahn mi benedict and toasted coconut french toast. All the dishes bear the bold flavor profiles Chef Lisa is known for. To see more of the Sweet Chili menu, view www.sweetchilinyc.com. Sweet Chili is accepting reservations for parties of six or more. Sweet Chili is also accepting press inquiries and interviews for Chef Lisa and Sean Flaherty. As well as offering tastings for media and critics, as well as interviews. Please contact Fred Fernandes with any requests. Sweet Chili is a new Southeast Asian Restaurant in Bushwick, straddling the line between quick service and fine dining. Our chef transforms traditional flavors into unique, modern dishes. Our cocktails complement the food and use Southeast Asian ingredients in new and unexpected ways. Chef, Lisa Fernandes, a Top Chef finalist, started Sweet Chili as a food truck in 2013. Sweet Chili represents Lisa's take on Southeast Asian cuisine, executed in a style all her own. Armed with a full kitchen and space to entertain guests, Sweet Chili aims to wow old and new fans alike.
