Guelph's own 'Vertical Squirrels' (Daniel Fischlin, Ajay Heble, Lewis Melville, and Ted Warren) continue hosting a residency at Silence through the Fall and Winter of 2019-20, featuring performances that highlight the group in improvised dialogue with special guests. Called an a?oean unclassifiable blast of fresh aira?? by the Montreal Mirror, with their album Hold True (Accroche-toi) chosen as one of the top ten offerings in 2010, the music of the Vertical Squirrels is group-improvised, live in the moment, and draws on a potent mixture of free jazz and post rock sensibilities with nods to Indian ragas, jazz-inflected minimalism, Zappa-esque bouts of sonic anarchy, and German rock music from the 1970s.

In preparation for its transfer to Off-Broadway for a six-week run at the end of January 2020, Border People will return for one final limited run at The Marsh San Francisco. The newest solo show by award-winning actor and playwright Dan Hoyle, this hit is based on Hoyle's conversations with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and border crossers of all kinds.

Cleveland Play House (CPH), takes audiences on a journey through grief, healing, falling in love, and (re)discovering all that life has to offer in Every Brilliant Thing, written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe. Performances run from November 23rd - December 22nd in the Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square. Every year, WAM Theatre donates a portion of the box office proceeds from their Mainstage productions to organizations that work for gender equality locally, nationally, or internationally. The success of the just-closed production of PIPELINE by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Dawn M. Simmons, enabled the company to present $4500 each to their 18th and 19th beneficiaries, Harmony Homestead and Wholeness Center, Inc., and The Women of Color Giving Circle. This brings WAM's donation total since its founding in 2010 to $75,000.

A captivating tale of a harrowing recovery. Not everyone knows that the average person loses 1.9 million brain cells every minute a stroke goes untreated, but Diane Barnes did. As a radiologist who diagnoses strokes, Barnes did not deal with having a stroke very well; it was more than 20 hours before she went to the hospital. My Stroke of Luck follows Barnes as she recounts her experience of having a stroke, her path to recovery, and more. A spellbinding and funny look at love, family, and seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Barnes shares the story of a single adoptive mother of special needs and gifted sons and how she forges a new identity after a debilitating stroke. My Stroke of Luck, directed by Rebecca Fisher and developed with David Ford, will be presented on Sunday, November 10, 2019 (7pm) at The Marin Center's Showcase Theater.

The number one ABBA tribute band in the world, ARRIVAL from Sweden will join Philharmonic Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski and the National Philharmonic for this electrifying blast from the past, as concertgoers relive the music from the movie Mamma Mia. ARRIVAL will perform some of ABBA's greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Take a Chance, Waterloo, Fernando, and more. The original ABBA is one of the most successful pop acts of all time, and is the second-best selling band behind only the Beatles. In fact, Universal Music certified in 2010 that ABBA has sold more than 375 million records and still sells about 5 million each year.
