Yale Repertory Theatre will conclude its 2022 season with Between Two Knees. The play, written by the intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s and directed by Eric Ting, is presented with Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Between Two Knees will be performed May 12–June 4 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).

In recognition of April as Jazz Appreciation Month the Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) hosts  a discussion with Dr. Chris Washburne and BMHC co-artistic director Bobby Sanabria  about Washburne's latest book, Latin Jazz: The Other Jazz. This discussion will focus on why this genre of jazz is deserving of more appreciation from the jazz world.

New Earth Theatre today announce the cast for Tsunagu/Connect Live, created by Kumiko Mendl and Kazuko Hohki. This theatre production was developed in response to an oral history project launched in 2020, that conducted over 30 interviews with Japanese women living in the UK.

Critically acclaimed rockers Band of Horses have surpassed one billion streams on Pandora. Earlier this week, the band was presented with a Pandora Billionaire Plaque to commemorate the milestone. Band of Horses’ music can now be heard on Pandora’s Alternative Billionaires station, along with other alternative and indie artists who have garnered more than a billion streams on Pandora, including Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Beastie Boys, Machine Gun Kelly, Lana Del Ray, and others. 

Jeff Thayer was at the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony in Temecula when we spoke for an hour on Zoom. 'I'm usually here right before I have something big to do.' He was referring to upcoming performances of the ninth violin concerto of The Chevalier de St. George at The Conrad in La Jolla. As the San Diego Symphony's Concertmaster, Thayer has realized an ambition dating back to high school. To further his ambition, he went on to graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Eastman School of Music and the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division.

The Chicago Philharmonic Society will present and perform Marvel Studios' Black Panther in Concert at the historic Chicago Theatre June 18, 2022 at 7:30 pm, the weekend of Juneteenth.

The first show at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM quickly sold out, so an encore performance has been added for Tuesday, March 22 at 8:30 PM downstairs at the Birdland Theater.

As the pandemic nears its much overdue endemic end, artists are coming out of the woodwork to sum up the past 24 months with their personal stories of survival and thriving. Last September, Tony award winner Cady Huffman and respected jazz bassist Mary Ann McSweeney presented such an evening at Birdland. With only the two of themselves, they put together an eclectic evening of jazz-flavored tunes with Ms. McSweeney on bass and Ms. Huffman on vocals entitled IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR: SONGS INSPIRED BY A PANDEMIC. This coming Tuesday, February 22, Huffman and McSweeney will present a new and improved version of the show at The Green Room 42, with a few surprises for those who caught the show before.

In an on-stage interview hosted by the ever witty and incredibly talented in her own right, New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast (also a Ridgefield resident), fans will hear the cultural icon's life stories describing his astonishingly colorful and meaningful life.

'Tongue Tied (Unplugged)' was written, produced and mixed by Wil Martin and mastered by Rob Brill. The song was previously released on their second album TWO.
