REVIEW: Cihangir Atölye Sahnesi Presents SALOZ'UN MAVALI
by Wesley Doucette - Nov 24, 2025

Make Portugal Great Again! In their production of Saloz’un Mavalı, adapted for Turkish stages by Can Yücel, Cihangir Atölye Sahnesi stages the clash between an imagined glorious past and a bleak, oppressive present. First performed in English as The Song of the Lusitanian Bogey in 1965, the play has, unfortunately, lost none of its relevance. Originally a two-act work, the CAS production condenses the material into just under an hour, but the ensemble fills that hour with a tightly woven collage of images, rhythms, and political critique.

The Iconic Rock Musical HAIR Shines Anew in a Grand Brazilian Revival
by Claudio Erlichman - Nov 13, 2025

The iconic rock musical Hair is back in a bold new Brazilian production directed by Charles Möeller and Claudio Botelho. Opening at São Paulo’s BTG Pactual Hall, the show celebrates the spirit of the 1960s counterculture — peace, love, and rebellion — through powerful anthems like Aquarius and Let the Sunshine In. With a cast of 30 led by Rodrigo Simas and Eduardo Borelli, this vibrant staging fuses rock, poetry, and raw emotion to explore freedom, identity, and protest in a turbulent era. Nearly six decades after its debut, Hair still pulses with youthful defiance and idealism, inviting audiences to sing, reflect, and feel the rhythm of a revolution that never truly ended.

Review: PAUL MCCARTNEY'S GOT BACK TOUR at Nationwide Arena
by Paul Batterson - Nov 10, 2025

From his perch on the stage, McCartney had a lot to take in from the sold-out audience. You might expect the crowd would come from the same template of older fans trying to surf on a wave of 1960s nostalgia. And there were some of those. However, there were also teens, college students, and members of Generation X, Y, and Z soaking in the show.

Review: South Coast Repertory Presents THE HEART SELLERS
by Michael Quintos - Nov 10, 2025

An intermission-less, two-character, conversational-centric play that focuses on a pair of women's specific immigrant experiences—marked with loneliness, hopes, fears, and puzzlements big and small—Pulitzer Prize finalist Lloyd Suh's absorbing, touching, and occasionally (thankfully) very funny play explores the emotional tug-of-war between comfortable, familiar cultural traditions left behind and the need to accept, learn, and assimilate to the often confounding realities of their new home environment—a sometimes exciting, but sometimes heartbreaking concept that many first-generation immigrants know all too well. Continues at South Coast Repertory through November 16, 2025.
