To say that the Tony Award-winning 2022 musical “Some Like It Hot,” which Broadway in Boston is presenting at Citizens Opera House through February 8, has quite a pedigree is putting it mildly.

The hilarious and irreverent comedy has become a vital part of every Christmas season in Los Angeles since 1995, and dedicated fans have been returning over the years to laugh at all the riotous antics. 

At its heart, Sister Act: The Musical is a celebration of sisterhood and the unexpected bonds formed in the most unlikely places. While Deloris Van Cartier begins her journey chasing fame, her time with the nuns reveals a deeper calling: not spiritual in the traditional sense, but rooted in connection, community, and self-worth.

The Columbus Jazz Orchestra will ring in the holiday season with vocalist extraordinaire Denzal Sinclaire at Home for the Holidays. Led by Bandleader Byron Stripling, the orchestra and Sinclaire will bring holiday favorites to the Southern Theatre stage for five performances. Learn how to purchase tickets.

Next up for The Wallis October 18th and 19th, the Australian group Circa’s latest chapter of their Human project, the internationally acclaimed Humans 2.0.  Circa’s creator Yaron Lifschitz directs and choreographs a group of ten multi-skilled circus artists/acrobats/dancers. I got the opportunity to get a few Human 2.0 insights from one of the talented ten - Kimberley Rossi.

The 7 Fingers, also known as Les 7 doigts de la main, are making their Center Theatre Group debut at the Ahmanson September 11, 2024. This artist collective based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada was founded in 2002 by seven circus artists: Isabelle Chassé, Shana Carroll, Patrick Léonard, Faon Shane, Gypsy Snider, Sébastien Soldevila, and Samuel Tétreault. Shana found time to describe 7 Fingers’ signature electrifying mix of circus, theatre, illusion, music, and dance inspired by the star-crossed tale of Romeo and Juliet.
