Big Noise Theatre Company will open its 2012-13 season with the engaging rock-opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, opening September 28th and playing weekends through October 21, 2012. Performances will be held at Prairie Lakes Theatre in Des Plaines, IL. The production is directed by Stacey Flaster, and Robert Deason returns to Big Noise as the show's music director.

A fun, new musical adaptation of an audience favorite comes to First Stage this holiday season. Created by the talented husband/wife team of Jahnna Beecham (Playwright/Lyricist) and Malcolm Hillgartner (Composer/Lyricist) and based on the play by Barbara Robinson, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER: THE MUSICAL is filled with catchy,'60s-inspired original music and a delightful story that both young and old will enjoy. The horrible Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world. The entire town panics when these rowdy six siblings are cast in the church's annual Christmas pageant. It's up to good-hearted Mrs. Bradley to help the Herdmans - and the rest of the town - discover the true meaning of Christmas before it's too late. Silent night? Closing SRT's 2017 Season is a contemporary musical about cynicism, belief, and the real meaning of Christmas. Another Night Before Christmas, plays December 1-23, 2017, at the East Sonora Theatre. Called 'roaringly funny, 'thoughtful', and 'perfect for a night out before Christmas', this show has a book and lyrics by Sean Grennan and music by Leah Okimoto. Grennan began writing for theatre as co-librettist (with his wife, Kathy Santen) for the musical Phantom of the Country Palace. Working as librettist and lyricist with composer Leah Okimoto, their work includes the musicals Married Alive!, A Dog's Life, and Another Night Before Christmas, all of which premiered at the American Heartland Theatre led by director Paul Hough.

BoHo Theatre will present the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally, based on the novel by Manuel Puig, as the final production in its 2012/2013 season. The production will run May 31st through June 30th at Theater Wit in Lakeview. Kiss of the Spider Woman is directed by BoHo Artistic Director Peter Marston Sullivan, director of such previous BoHo hits as Floyd Collins and Big River. The production features Nathan Carroll as Molina, Evan Tyrone Martin as Valentin, and Jennifer Grubb as Aurora the Spider Woman. Kiss of the Spider Woman represents the Bohemian Pillar of Love.
