The newest celebrated Hamlet sequel is slated for a world premiere at Bruka Theatre in Reno next March.

American Repertory Theater at Harvard University announced that 1,500 tickets priced at $5 and 1,000 free tickets for public high school students will be available across the upcoming 29 performances of Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992.

ELLA: An American Miracle, a new musical written by Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 and Notes From The Field) and featuring music from the Ella Fitzgerald songbook, is currently in development, with an upcoming work session held from August 25-September 21 to conclude with a private industry presentation.

To celebrate 30 years of Theater Mu, its 2022/23 season—dubbed the Pearl Anniversary season—will feature four world premieres and a conference honoring Asian American theater luminaries. 

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Broadway veteran Maureen McGovern has revealed that she has been diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy with symptoms of Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia. In a message on her official website, Maureen shared that she can no longer travel, perform in concerts, or even drive.

This week marks a very important event for DC area arts education. On June thirteenth, The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts (TTL) held its very first class and co-founders Deb Gottesman, Buzz Mauro and Michael Rodgers never looked back. The organization has changed locations a few times over the years but the quality of the work that Theatre Lab’s instructors and administration have given to hundreds and hundreds of students has always remained at the top of its game.
