BendFilm announced today a lineup full of creative ways to see films outside in the comfort of a car or in the open air of Tin Pan Alley. Films in the lineup are a wide range of adventure stories, throwback classics, music documentaries, blockbusters and more.  Several screenings have filmmaker Q&As or post film discussions planned.  In addition to the in-person screenings, BendFilm will continue to offer virtual rentals of new release films through the Tin Pan Theater.  New titles are listed each week at TinPanTheater.com. 

Vusi Mahlasela, the legendary activist and singer-songwriter known as 'The Voice' in his native South Africa, will release a new live album of traditional township songs, Shebeen Queen, on August 14 on ATO Records.

Throughout June and July, Montalvo Arts Center will present original artworks around the Bay Area for viewing on billboards and bus shelters, in a new public exhibition entitled lone some. In association with its 2019-2020 programming initiative, SOCIAL: Rethinking Loneliness Together, Montalvo will transform traditional advertising and commerce medium spaces into catalysts for conversation and connection.

The Public Theater announced additions to the line-up for WE ARE ONE PUBLIC, a one-night-only star-studded virtual event to support The Public Theater, which will take place on Monday, June 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Earlier this week, Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop made history as one of only ten musicals to earn the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in the 104 year history of the prizes.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop has officially won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included: Will Arbery's Heroes of the Fourth Turning and David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori's Soft Power.

The Pulitzer Prize Board today will present the 2020 award winners' (originally scheduled for Monday, April 20) for Prizes in Journalism, Books, Drama and Music. Who will win this year? Tune in right here at 3pm to watch the announcement live!

Bay Area Musicals has announced the full cast and creative team for the Company's penultimate 2019-2020 production, the game-changing Broadway masterpiece A CHORUS LINE. Winner of nine 1976 Tony Awards® (including a?oeBest Musicala??) and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, A CHORUS LINE features music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban and a book by James Kirkwood Jr. and Nicholas Dante. A CHORUS LINE was conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett. Bay Area Musicals' production of A CHORUS LINE runs from April 11 a?" May 10, 2020 and will perform at San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre (650 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102). The press opening will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. Regular tickets range from $35 - $85 and can be purchased online at www.bamsf.org/a-chorus-line. Genesis', The Last Domino? Tour 2020, the band's first in 13 years, has had to be extended after arenas in Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow sold out in less than ten minutes. Tickets went on general sale at 9am this morning (Friday 6th March).
