Boston Ballet and Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen presents Rudolf Nureyev's Don Quixote. The beloved ballet brings the sparkling wit of Miguel de Cervantes' classic novel to life with Nureyev's virtuosic choreography set to a spirited score by Ludwig Minkus performed by the Boston Ballet Orchestra. Don Quixote runs March 16–26 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.

Clue has evolved over the years beyond the dining room table and has since inspired a musical, several books and video games, and a 1985 film. It is this camp classic film that serves as the basis for CLUE ON STAGE, a theatrical mounting of the movie, which is now being lovingly and hilariously performed on stage now at Osceola Arts.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the cast and creative team for its production of As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, co-directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley, the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, and Helen Hayes Award winner Will Davis. It will run November 15 – December 11.

Martin Short and Shania Twain may be joining ABC's upcoming Beauty and the Beast special. They are in talks for Short to play Lumière and for Twain to play Mrs. Potts. They would join previously announced H.E.R. in the role of Belle, David Alan Grier as Cogsworth, Joshua Henry as Gaston, Josh Groban as the Beast, and Rita Moreno as the Narrator.

The Metropolitan Opera will open its 2022–23 season with the company premiere of Cherubini’s masterpiece Medea Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Following triumphant performances at the Met as some of the repertory’s most dramatic heroines, Sondra Radvanovsky sings Medea for the first time, taking on the tour-de-force role made famous by Maria Callas.

In remembrance of the thousands of people of color wrongfully killed by the police in our country, Charter Oak Cultural Center commissioned a free-standing, double-sided memorial by painter, George Gould. A dedication of the memorial, featuring remarks by Mr. Gould, Charter Oak Executive Director Rabbi Donna Berman and Community Partners in Action Prison Arts Program Manager Jeffrey Greene, will be held on Monday, September 12 at 6:00 on the front lawn of the Charter Oak Cultural Center located at 21 Charter Oak Avenue, Hartford, CT. The event is free and open to all.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Peabody today announced that Fresh Air with Terry Gross, the estimable cultural interview radio and podcast program, has won the Institutional Award. Stephen Colbert presented Terry Gross and the Fresh Air team with the honor this morning via video.

Ten pianists have been chosen to advance to the Semifinals of Canada's Honens International Piano Competition. The pianists (aged 21 to 31) come from seven countries: Austria, Hungary, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, and the United States.
