For nine years, the Kindling Arts Festival has been bringing audiences together by giving local artists the chance to display their creativity. From July 23rd to the 26th this year, over one hundred and fifty local artists got to perform twenty-two shows spread across eight venues in Nashville.

GALA will present the world premiere of GARBO: The Actor Who Saved the World, a drama about a double agent who misled the Nazis during World War II, written by Gustavo Ott.

When the idea of seeing this Ken Ludwig play came to fruition, I was immediately enamored with the idea that it is based on a true story. Chronologically retelling the story of his parents courtship amidst the backdrop of war, specifically World War II, created a strong presence, I knew would resonate with all who witnessed its telling.

Trinity Repertory Company announced the cast for the world premiere of THE GETAWAY DRIVER, a true crime docudrama inspired by Katherine Ann Power, with Resident Company Members Rebecca Gibel and Rachael Warren starring in Providence.

Idina Menzel has announced a few new tour dates with local symphonies starting this month through May of 2027. The Actors' Gang will present Two Gentlebots of Verona, a free, family-friendly adaptation of William Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona, from August 1–30, 2026 in Culver City and Burbank as part of its annual Free Shakespeare in the Park for Families series.

O.A.R. announced the Three Decades Tour, with a stop at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater featuring special guests Gavin DeGraw and KT Tunstall. The show was previously scheduled at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

Over the years, Broadway has seen a number of family acts sharing the stage. It’s extra special when family members team up to write a Broadway show together. The Great White Way has seen many instances of this historically, in a variety of different situations. 

Since The Lost Boys took Broadway by storm this spring, there has been much chatter about the “vampire curse” on Broadway being lifted. In the early 2000s, Broadway received a string of three vampire musicals, which all closed relatively quickly. Dance of the Vampires (2002), Dracula (2004), and Lestat (2006) each received attention in their own right, but they also received attention as a group, since it was remarkable that they came along in such quick succession. But the early 21st century wasn’t the first time vampires thirsted on Broadway. The play adaptation of Dracula was a hit all the way back in 1927 and an even bigger hit in a 1977 revival. And there have been vampires lurking in the theatre district in all sorts of other projects too…

Theatres Trust announced its 2026 Theatres at Risk Register, listing 39 UK venues threatened by closure, redevelopment, or decay. Now in its 20th year, the Register has helped restore over 80 theatres since its 2006 launch.
