The McCallum Theatre presents Dave Koz & Friends 'Christmas Tour 2018' today, December 18, at 8:00pm as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum series. A holiday tradition returns to the McCallum as Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2018 brings together a magical combination of musicians to celebrate this special season. Celebrated saxophonist Koz will be joined by special guests Mindi Abair, Jonathan Butler and Keiko Matsui performing their hits and jamming on fresh, lively arrangements of seasonal favorites in a high-energy show for the entire family.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents an incredible evening of jazz featuring the Branford Marsalis Quartet and Yuko Mabuchi Trio for one performance only on January 25, 2019 at 8:00pm. Led by Jazz Master and Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, the quartet was declared by the Associated Press as "one of the most cohesive, intense small jazz ensembles on the scene today." Quartet members include Joey Calderazzo, piano; Eric Revis, bass; and Justin Faulkner, drums. Opening the program is pianist Yuko Mabuchi whose trio of musicians includes Del Atkins on bass and Bobby Breton on drums.

York Symphony Orchestra To Present National Heroes Concert

The story centers on Oliver Henry III (played by Geoff Blanchette), a small-time crook turned vaudeville theater owner. From humble beginnings in England, he immigrates to America in search of happiness and fast cash. He becomes acquainted with people from all walks of life, from burlesque performers, mimes, hobos to classy flapper girls. As his fortunes rise his life spins out of control. Much of the storyline is a reflection on current social issues that burden our society today.

NC Theatre Donates $27,000 To Hurricane Florence Relief

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premiere nonprofit professional theatre, is pleased to announce it will donate more than $27,000 to World Central Kitchen (WCK), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working on the ground in eastern North Carolina providing disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Florence. NC Theatre's cast of In the Heights spearheaded efforts to collect spare change from Raleigh audiences who attended the week of performances Oct. 16-21 at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

Seven excellent albums (“Spleen”/1990, “Inca”/1992, “Melapesante”/2010, “La Bella è la Bestia”/2012 and “Odysséas”/2014, “Eros & Thanatos”/2016 and the new “Mysoginia”/2018) have come out of this collaboration, contaminated with tones that, more often than not, have gone beyond all codes and frontiers.
