Manatee Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce Manatee Players' production of 2.5 Minute Ride for 12 performances, April 5-22, in Bradenton Kiwanis Theater. The author, Lisa Kron, takes the audience on a ride, relaying the comedy and tragedy of her family and their lives as she clicks through family "slides" and tells the story attached to each.

Following two critically acclaimed and celebrated West End runs and a sell-out UK Tour, Green Day's explosive Tony Award winning rock musical, American Idiot, returns to mark the show's 10th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of the Grammy Award winning album. The special anniversary tour opens from 17 January 2019 at the Grove Theatre, Dunstable, with press night at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton on Thursday 24 January.

The award-winning SkyPilot Theatre Company announces their exciting new Mainstage production, Midnight Requisition, premiering April 6-29 with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm at the Arena Stage, Hollywood's Theatre of Arts, 1625 N. Las Palmas Ave., Hollywood.  Tickets are $15. There is also a preview performance on Thursday, April 5th at 8 PM, and all tickets for that are $5.  

Burning Coal Theatre Company will present Mike Bartlett's future history play King Charles III directed by Karen O'Brien. The play will run April 12 - April 29, 2018 (April 12 - 14, 19 - 21, 26 - 28 at 7:30 PM, and April 15, 22, and 29 at 2:00 PM) at Burning Coal's Murphey School Auditorium, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC 27604.

Director and playwright Stan Zimmerman has found his quartet of actors for his new comedy Knife to the Heart, co-written with Christian McLaughlin. The show will play a limited run of 3 WEEKS ONLY for 9 performances (May 4-20) at the Dorie Theatre, part of The Complex on LA's famed Theatre Row (6476 Santa Monica Blvd, LA CA 90038). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. The cast includes Chelsea Kane ('Baby Daddy'), Todd Sherry ('Parks & Recreation'), Josh Zuckerman (A Delicate Ship) and four-time Emmy-nominee Patricia Richardson ('Home Improvement'). Tickets are $35 for Reserved Seating /$25 General Admission/$30 at the door, if available, and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com. A special preview performance is Friday May 4 with an Opening Night of Saturday May 5.

The award-winning Albany Park Theater Project (APTP) youth theater ensemble celebrates its 21st birthday with the world premiere of 'Ofrenda,' a collection of real-life stories about creating home in turbulent times. 'Ofrenda' is performed by a cast of 33 teens in the company's home theater in one of the most diverse immigrant neighborhoods in the United States. Preview performances begin April 25 at the Laura Wiley Theater, 5100 N. Ridgeway Ave.  Tickets go on sale March 21 for performances through June 2.

As the celebrations, performances, and successes of The Cleveland Orchestra's Centennial Season continue toward its conclusion this spring, the Orchestra has announced details of its 101st season for 2018-2019. Aspects of the celebratory spirit continues - with a 100th Birthday concert in July for the Cleveland community and Centennial Gala in September. The new season also extends the dedicated week-to-week work, creativity, and artistry required to continue being one of the world's best orchestras year after year.

The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Managing Director Robert G. Bradshaw, presents Toshiki Okada's Time's Journey Through a Room, marking PlayCo's third collaboration with Okada, translator Aya Ogawa, and director Dan Rothenberg, May 10 - June 10, 2018. This haunting play, set in post-Fukushima Japan, is an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment.

Later tonight, Hollywood royalty will gather at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to salute the greatest achievements of the year in motion pictures. Of course, Broadway will be in the house with nominees for Best Original Song- a category that has a rich history of musical theatre representation. WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director, Joanie Schultz, today announced details for the inaugural DETOUR: A Festival of New Work (March 1 - 4, 2018). This year's Festival will consist of four new play readings, three devised works, and two "late nite" performances.  Highlights from this year's Festival include a reading from Oregon Shakespeare Festival's "Play On!" initiative commissioning modern adaptations of 39 of Shakespeare's works, three new works from rising company Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, the next installment of Brigham Mosley's laugh-out-loud creation, Movies That Should Be Musicals, and more.

Andrew Hinderaker's stunning theatrical hybrid The Magic Play begins preview performances at The Armory on March 3, opens on March 9 and runs through April 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. The Armory's production brings together the artistic team from the celebrated world premiere at Goodman Theatre/Olney Theatre Center, including director Halena Kays; magic creator/actor Brett Schneider; actor Sean Parris; master illusionist Jim Steinmeyer; scenic designer Lizzie Bracken, costume designer Alison Siple; aerial choreographer Sylvia Hernandez-DiStasi; and flying effects by ZFX, Inc. Portland Center State at The Armory's run of The Magic Play is a co-production with Actors Theatre of Louisville and Syracuse Stage.
