National Dance Institute has announced the Memorial Celebration of the Life of Jacques d’Amboise will take place at New York City Center on June 1, 2022, at 7pm.  General admission tickets are free to the public and available on a first-come/first-served basis.

Taking place in the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, all programs invite audiences to embrace artistic process and uniquely blend performance highlights with insightful artists' discussions.

After celebrating its 25th Anniversary in residence at Theater Wit—a season that featured the world premiere, acclaimed hit Relentless, which went on to an extended run at Goodman Theatre—the company will return to its longtime home in Chicago’s Lakeview East neighborhood, located at 615 W. Wellington Avenue, for three productions.

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

 A street in New York City has been named in commemoration of the life and achievements of Jacques d’Amboise, legendary ballet dancer and founder of the arts education organization National Dance Institute (NDI).

In addition to performances by Iggy Azalea and Natalia Jiménez, the festival stages will also feature Sonora Tropicana, Amoro Prohibido Band (a Selena Tribute Band), Gia Banks (of the hit TV show Legendary) and hip-hop singer and actress YoYo, among others. Ballet Hispánico, announces its 2022 Gala at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on Monday, May 16, 2022. The theme of the evening will be Noche Tropicana, a nod to the famous Tropicana Night Club of the 1940s and 1950s in Havana, Cuba.
