Just in time to celebrate Pride weekend! The live recording of Songs of the Phoenix, will be available everywhere, digitally, Friday, June 24th. “You Can’t Stop the Music” as the Village People say and this might have been the mission of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) as they sang their hearts out in esteemed composer Andrew Lippa’s original work entitled Unbreakable.  This East coast premiere by Mr. Lippa (composer of the musicals The Wild Party, Big Fish, and the oratorio I am Harvey Milk) was originally planned for 2020 but thanks to the “unbreakable” GMCW spirit, this fascinating work by Mr. Lippa was finally presented at the Lincoln Theatre.

Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles announced today that its season will conclude with A Salute to Sondheim, featuring special guest artist John Holiday (NBC’s The Voice and Matthew Aucoin’s Eurydice at The Metropolitan Opera).

Today’s subject Andrew Lippa is an award-winning composer/lyricist whose work spans all forms of music. On June fourth the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington will present Lippa’s Unbreakable for two performances only at 3:00 and 8:00pm. The event will be performed at The Lincoln Theatre.

Alexandra Silber is often known for her nuanced and powerful portrayals of strong Jewish women, including Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Halina in Indecent and more. Announced today is Millennials Are Killing Musicals, a new musical written by NAMT and Drama League Award-winner Nico Juber, which will receive an industry reading on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at Open Jar Studios, and will be presented in a public concert on Monday, April 4th at 9:30pm at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
