This will be just the third time the Bernstein masterpiece has been produced at Music Circus, and its first appearance in the Wells Fargo Pavilion; previous Music Circus productions were in 1955 and 1961. This summer, The United Way of San Diego County is committed to those children who need the most support in maintaining their reading. The U.S. Department of Education reports that 80-percent of low-income children are reading below level by fourth grade. When it comes to seeing high school theatre productions, some do not receive nearly as much credit and publicity as they deserve. It is so for Sandra Day O'Connor High School's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, directed by Toni Fioramonti. The production was put together in a short period of only five weeks, with about twenty rehearsals total, however, you would have never been able to tell from the overall splendor of the production. She also toured with Jelly's Last Jam, Dreamgirls and Once on This Island. She is about to star in a world premiere musical Shout, Sister, Shout! about the life of gospel singer Rosetta Tharpe.
