Where Are the Women? New Theater Season Announcements Signal a Troubling Setback
by Cara Joy David - Jul 2, 2025

I’ve been writing about the lack of female representation in creative teams for at least 15 years. When I wrote a series on female playwrights a couple of years back, there was a sense that things were getting better. There was even talk of sunsetting the organization, which has been a driving force in the fight for gender parity.

Review: KIMBERLY AKIMBO at Orpheum Memphis
by AniKatrina Fageol - Jun 26, 2025

'I suppose it's like the ticking crocodile, isn't it? Time is chasing after all of us.' One of my favorite quotes from Peter Pan and it fits so well with this particular story. Kimberly Akimbo teaches a unique lesson about time and aging.

Somewhere in a massive warehouse in Deptford, a collection is being made of every digital artifact since the birth of the internet in 1983. Every blog, every tweet, every DM. This archive called Storehouse is, unsurprisingly, reaching bursting point. A proposed solution called The Great Aggregregation has instead turned into “an epic fail”.
