Cast and Creative Team Announced for SoCal Co-Production of BILLY ELLIOT

San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) and California Ballet Company (CBC) announced today the complete cast and creative team for their upcoming co-production of Billy Elliot. This Tony Award-Winning musical includes music by Elton John, with book and lyrics by Lee Hall. Billy Elliot features direction by Neil Dale, who makes his San Diego directorial debut, music direction by Don LeMaster, and choreography by California Ballet Company Associate Artistic Director, Jared Nelson. Its genesis began when co-writer/star Jimmy Fowlie and co-writer/director Jordan Black watched the movie and couldn't help but ask themselves what exactly about Mia's poorly-produced, designed and attended one-woman show in the movie was supposed to have launched her highly successful career? All We Ever Wanted Was Everything is a rocking rollercoaster ride through the last thirty years in Britain, from the Thatcherite late 80s, through Cool Britannia, to Brexit Britain.  Focusing on two working-class kids from Hull, Leah and Chris, it portrays their unfulfilled Dreams and increasing neuroses, even as an asteroid screams towards the planet.  It's not quite a play, not quite a musical and not quite a rock concert, taking elements from each to create what production company Middle Child describe as 'gig theatre'.
