Based on the film of the same name by Dale Launer, Stanley Shapiro & Paul Henning

Based on the popular 1988 film, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS is the musical story of two con men living on the French Riviera. After meeting on a train, they unsuccessfully attempt to work together only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. To settle the score, they agree on a competition: the first one to extract $50,000 from heiress Christine Colgate wins and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of wits ensues, that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end! Mature language and themes.



Cast and Creative Team Announced for UNCLE VANYA at The Old Globe

The Old Globe's 2017 2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for Anton Chekhov's masterpiece Uncle Vanya, which has received a Globe-commissioned world premiere translation from Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, andLarissa Volokhonsky. Richard Nelson (Illyria, The Gabriel Plays, Tony Award winner for Best Book of a Musical for James Joyce's The Dead) also directs. Uncle Vanya will run February 10 March 11, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. The Old Globe Elects New Board Members for New Fiscal Year

The Old Globe's Annual Meeting was held on Monday, February 5 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. After a reception on Copley Plaza, Old Globe Board Chair Vicki L. Zeiger welcomed the members of The Old Globe, Board of Directors, and guests and announced the newly elected Directors serving three-year terms. Globe senior staff members presented highlights of the 2017 fiscal year, and Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and Managing Director Timothy J. Shields spoke about the future of the Globe and its place in the San Diego community. The meeting was followed by a dessert reception catered by The Prado Restaurant for the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Founders-Level Donors on Copley Plaza. (more...)

BWW Review: DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS at Atlanta Lyric Theatre

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a musical farce based on the 1988 film of the same name, opened on Friday evening at Atlanta Lyric Theatre, and despite the fact that the book by Jeffrey Lane doesn't manage the governing tension of the story as well as its film predecessor and that the music by David Yazbek is mostly forgettable, the production represents a decidedly successful outing for the Atlanta Lyric Theatre. A great cast, boasting standout performances by Chase Peacock in the role of Freddy Benson and Jessica De Maria in the role of Muriel Eubanks, and designed-to-impress choreography by Lauren Brooke Tatum provide all the makings for a fun evening at the theatre.
