.Almost Famous is set to begin preview performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre tonight, October 3, 2022 with opening night on November 3, 2022.

BroadwayWorld caught up with Platt to discuss what audiences can expect from the new tour, the difference between performing for concert audiences opposed to musical theatre audiences, and what he's most looking forward to when taking on the role of Leo Frank in the upcoming City Center production of Parade.

Johnny Berchtold will join the cast of the New York Premiere production of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL (2ST’s Grand Horizons and Make Believe), directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER (The Band’s Visit, 2ST’s Man from Nebraska) at Second Stage Theater.

Inspired by the seminal rock album of the same name by seven-time Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette (she/her), JAGGED LITTLE PILL will premiere at DPAC February 28 – March 5, as part of Truist Broadway at DPAC. 

Tickets to SIX at Memorial Hermann Broadway at the Hobby Center by will go on sale Friday, September 23 at 10AM. SIX by Tony Award-winners Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will play the Hobby Center for 16 performances November 8-20, 2022.

 Dear Evan Hansen comes to Detroit’s Fisher Theatre September 27 – October 9, 2022. In advance of the start of performances, the production announced that it will host a digital ticket lottery offering fans the chance to purchase a limited number of $25 tickets available per performance.

BEETLEJUICE will officially close on Broadway on Sunday, January 8, 2023. When BEETLEJUICE makes its final Broadway bow, it will have played 27 previews at the Winter Garden Theatre and 366 regular performances, and 313 regular performances during its resurrection at Broadways’ Marquis Theater, for a total of 679 Broadway performances.

The North American tour of Disney’s The Lion King will welcome Peter Hargrave, Nick LaMedica and Khalifa White as Scar, Zazu and Nala, respectively. The new cast members will begin performances in Salt Lake City at The Eccles Theater, where the award-winning musical will play a four-week return engagement from Thursday, September 29 through Sunday, October 23, 2022.  LaMedica and White begin performances on Thursday, September 29, while Hargrave debuts on Thursday, October 13.

The Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center announced that individual tickets for the Baltimore premiere of JAGGED LITTLE PILL go on sale Friday, September 16 at 10 a.m. EST.

BroadwayCon will make its debut in Times Square at the New York Marriott Marquis on Friday, July 21 through Sunday, July 23, 2023. 

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Dear Evan Hansen, the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical, will play its final Broadway performance on Sunday, September 18, 2022, almost six years after it opened at the Music Box Theatre.

Michael R. Jackson's WHITE GIRL IN DANGER will begin previews on March 15, 2023 and will officially open on April 10, 2023 at Second Stage’s Off-Broadway home, the Tony Kiser Theater. The limited 8-week run will play through Sunday, May 21, 2023.

1776 begins previews on Broadway tonight, Friday, September 16, ahead of its official opening on Thursday, October 6, 2022. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street).

Oregon Children's Theatre (OCT) will present TheaterWorksUSA's NY Times Critic's Pick, Dog Man: The Musical based on the popular book series by Dav Pilkey. Dog Man: The Musical will be presented at the Newmark Theatre, located at Portland'5 Center for the Arts, October 23 through November 20.

Broadway's holiday hit Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will have its Austin premiere as part of Texas Performing Arts 2022-23 Broadway in Austin season. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will play Bass Concert Hall December 6 to 11, 2022.
