Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).

Landmark Radio Theater will present Stage Door, an adaptation of the classic 1937 film, on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. at the Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington, N.Y.  The show will be presented as a radio play with music and sound effects, performed before a live audience.   

Gloria McLean, President of the American Dance Guild, announced today the lineup for ADG Festival 2018, Visions Then and Now. Honors to choreographic luminaries Jane Comfort and the late Eleo Pomare will complement four days of performances by 34 multi-generational artists from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 25 through October 28 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City.

Telluride Film Festival, presented by the National Film Preserve, today announced its official program selections for the 45th edition of the Telluride Film Festival. TFF's celebration of artistic excellence brings together cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in world cinema in the beautiful mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. TFF will screen over sixty feature films, short films and revival programs representing twenty-two countries, along with special artist Tributes, Conversations, Panels, Student Programs and Festivities. Telluride Film Festival takes place Friday, August 31 - Monday, September 3, 2018.

In a new production commissioned by the Finborough Theatre, the rediscovery of Tony Harrison's Square Rounds in its first UK production for nearly 30 years opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 4 September 2018 (Press Nights: Thursday, 6 September and Friday, 7 September 2018 at 7.30pm).

Conducted by world-renowned Polish Maestro Miros?aw Jacek Baszczyk, the concert will feature music composed by Poland's greatest musicians, performed by some of today's leading vocalists and musicians. The performance will commence with an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Piotr Wilczek. The 100th anniversary of Poland has significant meaning for the National Philharmonic, which is led by Polish-born Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. One of the National Philharmonic's veteran artists, Brian Ganz-who will perform at the Polish celebration concert-is also a frequent performer of Frederic Chopin, beginning a quest in 2011 to perform all of the great Polish composer's works. During this celebratory concert, Maestro B?aszczyk will lead the National Philharmonic Chorale, accompanied by Esther Heideman, soprano; Magdalena Wor, mezzo-soprano; Tyler Duncan, baritone; and the National Philharmonic in Krzesimir D?bski's Hussars' Polonaise and Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater and Mr. Ganz in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.  Ticket prices are $23-$76 and are free for young people age 7-17. Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Martyna Majok's COST OF LIVING has officially won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Semyon Bychkov will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct two weeks of programs, including the 50th anniversary of a Philharmonic commission, artist debuts, and symphonic cornerstones. In the first week, Mr. Bychkov will conduct Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1, with soloist Bertrand Chamayou in his Philharmonic debut; Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5; and Brahms's Tragic Overture, Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 18 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. 

Hook & Eye Theater is proud to present the world premiere of She-She-She, a vibrant new devised play with writing by Cynthia Babak that centers on six women whose lives intertwine across generations against the backdrop of one great mountain. Directed by Chad Lindsey, She-She-She is inspired by the real-life friendship between Eleanor Roosevelt and leading black activist Pauli Murray.

To commemorate Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday this year, Northrop presents Keigwin + Company Celebrates Bernstein Featuring The University Symphony Orchestra on Sat, Apr 14, at 7:30 pm. KEIGWIN dancers blend Broadway and club styles on stage with a theatrical flair while musicians with the University's Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mark Russell Smith, perform many Bernstein classics.

Rehearsals are in full swing for The 5th Avenue Theatre's production of Kiss Me, Kate, which begins performances next Friday, April 6.

Transformational changes are coming to the Arkansas Arts Center, Executive Director Todd Herman announced Tuesday. Alongside architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang and landscape architect Kate Orff of SCAPE, Herman presented a striking architectural design that strengthens the connections between the visual and performing arts in an inclusive space that welcomes a diverse community.

Last season on Broadway there was a play called Time and the Conways presented at Roundabout Theatre Company. The play hadn't been seen on Broadway since 1937 and after seeing it I understood why. That said, the production had a great look and a very good cast so you could forget about the stodginess of the script. Bethesda, Maryland-based Quotidian Theatre Company's current production of Hobson's Choice bears a resemblance to Time and the Conways because you don't ever see it performed. Unfortunately, the production values – a result of a limited budget – and some questionable casting can't hide all the warts of Harold Brighouse's over 100-year-old script.

Written in 1911, this early feminist's battle of the sexes drama focuses on He (Tom Herford) and She (Ann Herford), husband and wife artists whose marriage is put to the test when it is time to submit for a prestigious commission. He and She is often considered Rachel Crothers' most important play for its nuanced depiction of the choices faced by the New Woman of 1911. He and She opened in Boston in February of 1912, had a successful run on Broadway in 1920, and had a major revival in 1980 when mounted by New York's BAM Theatre Company.
