On June 2, 1953, after 16 months of planning, The Queen set out from Buckingham Palace to be crowned at Westminster Abbey, in a ceremony that was watched by millions of people throughout the world. A ceremony dating back more than a thousand years was to herald the dawn of a new Elizabethan age.

Boise Contemporary Theater, celebrating the best-selling season in its 22-year history, opens its doors once again beginning December 6 to grownups and children alike for the second show of the 17 18 Season, Eric Coble's The Storm in the Barn. Based on the popular graphic novel for older kids (8 and up) by Matt Phelan, Storm tells the story of eleven-year-old Jack Clark (played by Chicago-based actor Sarah Cartwright) and his family who are weathering, as best they can, the Dust Bowl of 1937.

The Outre Theatre Company presents the first production of its 2017/18 season, George Orwell's 1984, in its new home at the recently opened Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The play 1984 is based on George Orwell's dystopian novel published in 1949. In 2005 the novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels.
