The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.

Inspired by conversations Rosenbaum had with Israeli violin maker Amnon Weinstein, the International City Theatre in Long Beach is presenting the American premiere of The Violin Maker, a new play based on the true story of how he gathered and restored ruined violins that survived the Holocaust to create the remarkable collection known throughout the world as the “Violins of Hope.” I decided to speak with playwrights Lisa Pearl Rosenbaum and Ronda Spinak (artistic director of The Braid) about the play’s creation and history, especially why it is so important to tell the Violins of Hope maker’s story.

Australian producer Michael Cassel, alongside original Broadway producers Lia Vollack, John Branca, and John McClain, have announced the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical MJ, set to make its Australian debut at the Sydney Lyric Theatre in 2025.

Bucks County Playhouse will present “Seán Heely's Celtic Christmas” at Villa Victoria Academy in Ewing, NJ. The one-night-only event will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 8:00 pm. The concert is part of the Playhouse's Community Arts Series.
