On December 14, a radiant crowd of 100 LGBTQ+ artists and allies convened in-person at The Whitney Museum while many more joined online for Queer|Art's biggest event of the year: The Queer|Art Annual Party.

Tonight, NBC will air its sixth live musical production. Following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the peacock network will be presenting Annie. Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for the 30th annual production of A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL, December 17-23 at the Byham Theater. This year's production, directed by Scott Evans, will feature lavish costumes, thrilling effects and a talented ensemble of both new and returning performers. Broadway & TV star Richard Thomas returns to Pittsburgh CLO to lead the cast as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Michael McAssey is one of cabaret's busiest and most sought-after entertainers. The successful Broadway and Television actor made his cabaret debut in 1982 at New York City's famous DUPLEX in Greenwich Village.

What do you get when you combine the pianistic finesse of Michael Feinstein, the smooth phrasing of Tony Bennett, and the bawdy wit of Bette Midler? You get Michael McAssey, who for 40 years has reigned as the clown prince of New York cabaret, and has enchanted as one of its most talented troubadours. He calls what he does 'schtick.' But that's undervaluing his unique blend of beautiful ballad singing and standup, or rather 'sit down' comedy.

Michael McAssey is a winner and three-time nominee of the MAC AWARD for Outstanding Male Vocalist, presented in New York by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs and made his Town Hall debut at the Mabel Mercer FOUNDATION'S 13th ANNUAL CABARET CONVENTION.

On top of that he shares a trailer for his fourth and final vinyl box Distortion: Live an 8 LP set that includes live recordings from Mould’s solo career and his band Sugar. This set will be released on July 16, 2021, through Demon Music Group.

Producers Joey Parnes and Nicole Fosse are aiming to bring the classic Bob Fosse musical back to Broadway in the 2022-23 theatre season. The production will be directed by original cast member Wayne Cilento.
