What did our critic think of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES at Palm Canyon Theatre? Based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret, the musical gets the star treatment from composer/lyricist Jerry Herman and book by Harvey Fierstein and has become a gay cult classic since it’s Broadway debut in 1983. 

After their car breaks down in a rainstorm, sweethearts Brad and Janet knock on the door of a nearby castle, asking to use the phone. They are whisked inside by a candelabra-toting butler and into the streamer-filled lair of a scantily clad mad scientist, Dr. Frank ‘n Furter. 

The set is perfectly creepy, and the lighting, complete with candles hanging from the ceiling, sets the mood. While the entire cast brings an energetic and exciting performance, the Phantoms really bring the show to life. Overall, the cast and crew of The Rocky Horror Show at GCT is sure to be an audience favorite!
