Wynn Handman, the famed New York acting teacher and Artistic Director of The American Place Theatre, died at home April 11, 2020 of Covid-19 related pneumonia. He was 97.

Pacific Symphony has once again put together an entertaining SummerFest program for 2019 at Pacific Amphitheatre (located in the heart of Orange County). This season features the classic rock'n'roll energy of "Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles" (July 4); John Williams' thrilling soundtrack of "Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert" performed live to film (Aug. 17); and everyone's favorite summer finale: Tchaikovsky Spectacular (Sept. 7), with guest violinist Benjamin Beilman, first prize winner in the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and the 2010 Montreal International Musical Competition.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Actor/playwright/cabaret entertainer, Tony nominee and two-time MAC Award winner Charles Busch appears in a musical entertainment that gets to the essence of this legendary theatrical figure. Through an eclectic songbook from the seventies and early eighties, Busch unfolds an outrageously comic yet also poignant tale of his early years striving to find a place for himself in show business. Songs include the work of Michel Legrand, Rupert Holmes, Stephen Sondheim, Jim Croce among the best of Broadway, film and pop. He will be joined by his longtime musical director Tom Judson.

With Spamilton: An American Parody currently running at the venue, the Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a major revival of Hugh Whitemore's Pack of Lies directed by Hannah Chissick. The production opens on 1 October, with previews from 20 September, and runs until 17 November.

As previously announced, ensemble member Amy Morton directs this Chicago premiere, featuring the original cast members, Omar Metwally (Humayun) and Arian Moayed (Babur), who were last seen on Steppenwolf's stage together in Homebody/Kabul. Morton directed the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway world premiere, which won the 2016 Obie Award for Best New American Play.
