Tom Cochrane, Syleena Johnson and More Coming Up at City Winery Chicago
City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, announces a night with award-winning rock star Tom Cochrane ("Life is a Highway"), two shows with groundbreaking R&B star Syleena Johnson, an evening with Billboard-chart toppers We Banjo 3 and more.

Canadian-born Tom Cochrane has established himself over a career spanning nearly 50 years in the music industry as a household name in rock, crossing country divides and earning countless awards and recognition for his work. Starting in 1978, Cochrane joined the Canadian-rock band Red Rider, producing six albums and earning early acclaim before propelling to fame in his solo career with the release of "Life is a Highway" in 1991. Beginning with his first solo album, Mad Mad World, Cochrane would come to release four more albums, winning eight Juno Awards and a place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Cochrane is also a life-long supporter of many charities, including WSPA and World Vision, and has worked to spearhead and participate in several benefit concerts. Cochrane will be re-releasing Mad Mad World as it nears its 25th anniversary while embarking on a Canadian and U.S. tour throughout 2018.

Justin Townes Earle has spent his career drawing on Nashville roots to fuel a lasting impression on the ranks of country and bluegrass music. Earle has produced seven studio albums - the most recent of which, Kids In The Street, was released in May 2017 to critical acclaim. His work has earned him several awards throughout the years; in 2011, Earle received the Americana Music Award in the Song of the Year category for "Harlem River Blues," and his album Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now was listed at number 37 on Rolling Stone's list of the top 50 albums of 2012. Earle returns to City Winery as part of a series of shows throughout early 2018.

Coming of age in the 90's hip-hop era, Syleena Johnson got her start with Jive Records after her demo was discovered at a charity basketball game in her hometown of Harvey, Illinois. Since 2000, Johnson has worked to produce eight studio albums, earning her several nominations and awards over the course of her career; beginning in 2001, she was nominated for a Billboard Music Video Award for her song, "I Am Your Woman," and in 2005 received a Grammy Award nomination for her collaboration with Kanye West on his single, "All Falls Down." Her most recent album, The Rebirth of Soul, was released in 2017. Johnson also ventured into television, appearing in the TV One Reality series "R&B Divas: Atlanta" from 2012 to 2014.

Hailing from Galway, Ireland, award-winning quartet We Banjo 3 combines Irish Music with Old-Time American and Bluegrass influences to reveal the banjo's rich legacy and roots. Brothers Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley are among the most celebrated young musicians in Ireland today. Their competitive success is unrivaled, Martin holding 7 All Ireland titles, Enda with 4, while Fergal and David hold All Ireland titles on Banjo, Fiddle, Bodhran and Guitar. Originators of their own combination of Celtic and Bluegrass music, "Celtgrass," We Banjo 3 has released four albums to date, the most recent, String Theory, ranking at number one on the 2016 Billboard world charts at its release. The band makes a stop at City Winery as part of their 2018 U.S. tour.

Americana and folk star Stephen Kellogg built his music career on a foundation of tireless work, ingenuity, and a passion for the genre. In 1994, Kellogg began releasing solo records, first teaming up with the Stephen Kellogg Band and then, in 1997, Stephen Kellogg and the Root Cellar Band. It wasn't until 2003, with the formation of Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, that Kellogg was able to make his mark on the music industry, releasing five studio albums which earned them national fame and acclaim. Their release The Bear was voted "Best of 2009" by No Depression and JamBase, and they were named 2009 Entertainers of the year by Armed Forces Entertainment. Following the band's hiatus in 2012, Kellogg has released three solo albums, including a 2017 release of a collection of his greatest hits. Kellogg has also proclaimed his passion for supporting the armed forces, and has played shows at several military bases over the years.
All City Winery events are open to all ages and start at 8 p.m., unless noted.

Opened in 2012, City Winery Chicago is a fully operational winery, restaurant with outdoor patio, concert hall and private event space located in the heart of the West Loop at 1200 W. Randolph, in the historic urban Fulton Market district. Once a refrigerated food distribution warehouse, the 1911 building has been transformed into a contemporary 33,000 square foot haven for those passionate about wine, music and culinary arts. The décor evokes the romance of being in wine country, from the exposed stainless steel fermenting tanks and French oak barrels, to the aroma of fermenting grapes.
