On Tuesday, April 16th, The Havana Film Festival New York (HFFNY), a project of The American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (AFLFC), is set to energize the city with a special closing-night premiere honoring Cuban ballet legend Carlos Acosta. Wrapping up HFFNY's 12-day celebration of Latin American cinema (April 5–16), the evening will feature the New York premiere of Yuli (2018) at the DGA Theater. This poignant film inspired by Acosta's life chronicles his rise from poverty and prejudice to become an icon of the dance world. The evening will begin with a pre-screening VIP champagne reception with Acosta, the film premiere and a post-screening Q&A, and conclude with a Cuban-themed dinner reception, Fiesta Cubana. Proceeds from the closing-night event support The International Performing Arts Foundation (TIPAF), a charitable organization that works closely with Acosta on his philanthropic initiatives, including his enriching Dancers-in-Residence training program.

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana celebrates its 35th anniversary season with a program of new works featuring the New York premiere of Mujeres Valientes by internationally renowned flamenco artist Belén Maya and dances by three up-and-coming choreographers from Spain: Emilio Ochando, José Maldonado, and Guadalupe Torres. Artistic Director Bradley Hemmings today announces the full programme for this summer's Greenwich + Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London's leading festival of outdoor theatre and performing arts, which takes place from 23 June to 8 July in locations across Royal Greenwich, Docklands and Tower Hamlets.  It follows the previous announcement in March of eight newly commissioned productions.

Caminos Flamencos, under the direction of Emmy Award-winning dancer and choreographer Yaelisa and guitarist Jason McGuire 'El Rubio,' has announced details for a three-city tour with renowned guest artists from Spain, Andres Peña and Manuel Malena. Starting at the Irvine Barclay Theater in Irvine, California on January 21, followed by concerts at the New Vic Theater in Santa Barbara on January 22, and the Brava Theater in San Francisco on January 29, the tour celebrates the end of Yaelisa's decade-plus tenure at the helm of the New World Flamenco Festival in Irvine. Tickets for the San Francisco concert range between $25 and $65, and are available for purchase online at brava.org. Susan R. Williamson, Director of the Palm Beach Poetry Festival (PBPF), today announced that the 13th annual festival is returning to Old School Square for six days, January 16-21, 2017. Special Guest Poet Palm will be Charles Simic, past United States Poet Laureate (2007-2008) and 1990 Pulitzer Prize winner.
