Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced that the company's 2018 Summer Festival will feature new productions of four operas at The Spa Little Theatre in Spa State Park, along with a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events from May 26 through July 15 at venues throughout the region.

There is no other company in Houston that is better equipped to handle his material, and this production cements that with ease. It is presented with a casual decadence that perfectly captures the world of the black American musician during this time.

From May 16 to 27, The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. will present the world premiere production of 'Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water' by Michael A Jones.  The play is winner of the troupe's 2017 Emerging Playwrights Competition.  Called a 'drama with comedy,' it is a story of displacement of Black families and the forces that lead to it in modern America.  Performances are at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place.

Performance Space New York's East Village Series, the first themed series under the leadership of Executive Artistic Director Jenny Schlenzka, has reexamined the audacious origins of the organization and the communities that formed around it. Broadway In Boston, Boston's mainstage for Broadway, has unveiled the upcoming 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway Season during its annual spring announcement event at the Boston Opera House.  Eleven theatrical productions will take center stage at the Boston Opera House and the Emerson Colonial Theatre.  Over 1500 people from around the city gathered for the annual celebration including Broadway In Boston's Season ticket holders, group leaders, arts and business leaders, city officials, partners from around the city, sponsors and the Boston media.  Highlights from the day included live performances from cast members of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, ROALD DAHL'S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, SCHOOL OF ROCK and A BRONX TALE.
