San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) and California Ballet Company (CBC) announced today the complete cast and creative team for their upcoming co-production of Billy Elliot. This Tony Award-Winning musical includes music by Elton John, with book and lyrics by Lee Hall. Billy Elliot features direction by Neil Dale, who makes his San Diego directorial debut, music direction by Don LeMaster, and choreography by California Ballet Company Associate Artistic Director, Jared Nelson. Performances run from September 22 - October 8, 2017, at the Spreckels Theatre. Press opening is Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 8:00 p.m.

Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced that the company's 2018 Summer Festival will feature new productions of four operas at The Spa Little Theatre in Spa State Park, along with a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events from May 26 through July 15 at venues throughout the region.

The Outre Theatre Company presents the first production of its 2017/18 season, George Orwell's 1984, in its new home at the recently opened Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The play 1984 is based on George Orwell's dystopian novel published in 1949. In 2005 the novel was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, cold war, and Newspeak have permanently entered into common use since its first publication.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 48th season with the World Premiere of The Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga. Drawn from one of the first ever graphic novels, set to an infectious ragtime and vaudeville score by local composer/lyricist Min Kahng, the comic musical follows four Japanese immigrants in a world of possibility and prejudice: turn-of-the-twentieth-century San Francisco. Since the Samuel Adams LongShot American Homebrew Contest was created 21 years ago to recognize passionate homebrewers, it has helped launch the professional brewing careers of multiple homebrewers. Knowing this, the brewers at Sam Adams have brewed a new plan to truly equip homebrewers with the experience and knowledge to take their passion to the next level.

A second performance of 'Brahms and the Schumanns,' narrated by Alan Alda, has been added to the schedule of the 2017 Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival. This program, which opens the festival, will now be performed on July 30 and 31.

Love Letters From Vietnam is a unique live theatrical musical performance of Alex Woodward's songs written for the daughter of Vietnam vet Sgt. John K. Fuller. TAO: Drum Heart closes the season with their world tour of large-scale Japanese taiko drumming, dance and martial arts.

Primary Stages announced today that the Primary Stages 2017 Spring Fling will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm. The event, which will be held at The Highline Ballroom (431 West 16th Street), will honor Jeanine Tesori with the Einhorn Mentorship Award.
