Casting has been announced for the East Lansing engagement of Disney's Aladdin. The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in East Lansing at Wharton Center on Wednesday, December 4, for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 15. The press opening night is Friday, December 6, at 8:00 p.m.

Last week the book 'Me' was released by the legend Elton John and it got me thinking about Elton's contribution to musical theatre. His music and his generous personality have touched millions. His musical fantasy movie Rocketman, that came out earlier this year, based on his life is one of the greatest, in my opinion, films ever made. He has such a passion and love for everything he does and what he has given the magical world of musical theatre is just as extraordinary.

Numi Opera completes its inaugural season with its second productiona?"Erich Korngold's first opera Der Ring Des Polykrates. which he composed in 1914. Directed by Numi Opera Executive Director Gail R. Gordon and conducted by Francesco Milioto, the rarely performed opera will have two performances on Thursday, December 19 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 22 at 7:30pm at Zipper Hall at the Colburn School, located at 200 South Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles.

Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida is now being performed at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center this June to the delight of its audiences. Aida first opened on Broadway in 2000 and ran for four years. The Broadway production starred Adam Pascal, Heather Headley, and Sherie Rene Scott in the lead roles. The highly acclaimed show was nominated for five Tony Awards, and won four out of five, including Best Original Score. The Aida cast recording also won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.

The Kennedy Center has announced its 2019-2020 season for the National Symphony Orchestra Pops. Tony Award winner and original Hamilton cast member Leslie Odom Jr. will lead NSO's annual Holiday Pops! concert from December 13-14. The season continues with 1776, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Footloose and a newly-reimagined Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon. Season 101 closes with the highly-anticipated Muny debut of Roald Dahl's Matilda.
