There's mischief in the woods!  The Theatre School @ North Coast Repertory Theatre presents William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Magical fairies with love juice complicate two teen couples' relationships in this "First Folio" Shakespearean comedy.  Benjamin Cole directs his theatre school students in this entertaining summer performance, from August 2 - 6, 2017. A friendly reminder! The Public Theater will begin previews for the second Free Shakespeare in the Park production of the season, A Midsummer Night's Dream, on Tuesday, July 11. BWW Review: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Baltimore Shakespeare Factory Creates Magic and Fun in the Forest

There are few things I love more than finding fun and new things to do outside in the dog days of summer. And lately, it seems that others have shared my love for all things sunshine by planning more and more of these events. One of these events is theatre outside, which may not be a new idea, but it seems more companies are participating in these types of shows. For instance, the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory is performing A Midsummer Night's Dream in the garden of the Evergreen Museum in Baltimore County. Don't get me wrong, I love this particular play in all forms, but there's something special about seeing it outdoors in a garden, seeing as that is the actual setting for the play. And while I've seen a few productions outdoors, I need to say that this particular production was probably the best I've ever seen. (more...)

Cast List and More Announced for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, Opening 9/8!

The Otto M. Budig Theater, the new custom-built home of the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company in Over-the-Rhine, opens on September 8 with A Midsummer Night's Dream. The production runs through September 30 and is directed by Producing Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips. The cast features longtime resident ensemble members Matthew Lewis Johnson as Bottom, Giles Davies as Oberon, Associate Artist Miranda McGee as Titania, and Associate Artistic Director Sara Clark as Puck. The production is sponsored by Bartlett & Co, LLC. The season is funded by ArtsWave and the season sponsors are The Otto M. Budig Family Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council. (more...)
