The Virginia Arts Festival has announced the complete cast for The Sound of Music, co-produced by the Festival and the Virginia Opera May 13-15 at the Harrison Opera House.

Music Director and Founder Marios Papadopoulos will conduct the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra - praised as 'excellent' by Gramophone magazine and 'thoroughly impressive' by BBC Music Magazine - in their Carnegie Hall Debut on Tuesday, June 7 at 7:30 PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.

According to a Deadline article, acclaimed costume and set designer Tony Walton has passed away at the age of 87. He died on March 2nd from issues related to a stroke. Bridget LeRoy, his stepdaughter, released the news of his death on Facebook, writing, “A fond and loving farewell to the most fabulous stepdad and human being in the world. Love you forever, Tony Walton. Have a great trip.”
