South Bay Musical Theatre (SBMT) has announced the titles for the Company's upcoming 2020-2021 season. The 2020-2021 season will include JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (September 26 - October 17, 2020), A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (January 30 - February 20, 2021) and THE KING AND I (May 15 - June 5, 2021).

Weathersby Productions and SuperBad Theatre Company is continuing their 2020-2021 tour Theatre season, in Covington Kentucky at The Carnegie Theatre. The new musical REMEMBERING JAMES- The Life and Music of James Brown will perform February 1st, Two shows only.

The Recording Academy® welcomes the newest inductions to its distinguished GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®, continuing its ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating timeless recordings. This year's additions recognize a diverse range of both single and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Recordings are reviewed each year by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. With 26 new titles, the Hall, now in its 47th year, currently totals 1,114 recordings. The 2020 GRAMMY Hall Of Fame inductions are available to stream via a playlist here.

LSPR TEATRO, the theater club of Jakarta's,London School of Public Relations, announced their production of 2019: Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I. This production will also mark their first performance in the AMANI PALLADIUM THEATRE, LSPR's new theatre located in their newly opened Bekasi location at TransPark Juanda. The show will run on 21-24 November 2019.

The Black Repertory Group is kicking off its 56th Uninterrupted Theatre season with The Life and Music of The Godfather of Soul, James Brown. The Nationally touring musical REMEMBERING JAMESwill open Nov. 7 and run Thursday- Sundays through Nov. 24

As a very young man, Dedrick Weathersby a Longview TX native learned early on about the magic of the genre called 'soul music.'

Poet Langston Hughes questions in 1951 through his poem "Harlem;" What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" The legendary poem inspired Lorraine Hansbury to write the award winning drama A Raisin in the Sun eight years later. In 1959, Hansberry became the first African American women to have her play produced at New York's Barrymore Broadway theater in an era when women in general, regardless of ethnicity, were published. Opening in '59 with a primarily African American cast, the play heralded a dramatic change for theater audience in years to come. At Anoka's Main Stage Theater, Lyric Arts presents an outstanding revised thirteenth anniversary production of the play directed by Austene Van, which features a stellar cast, two tiered set designed by Peter Lerohl and lighting designed by Matt McNabb.

The Muny announced today its complete cast, design and production team for Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon, the sixth show of its second century, July 27 – August 2. Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon is proudly sponsored by Ameren.
