The Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) celebrates its 48th anniversary with a new season of classes for 2019-2020, beginning on Monday, August 26. 

True to its mission, Synchronicity Theatre's 2019-2020 Season will feature women playwrights and provide new opportunities to uplift the voices of women and girls. The season includes programming in Synchronicity's Bold Voices Series (contemporary plays for adults), Family Series (compelling plays for children and families), curated new voices in the Stripped Bare Arts Incubator Project, the newly rebranded Women in the Arts and Business Luncheon, the next installment of SheWRITES New Play Festival, and Playmaking for Girls and Playmaking for Kids.

With more than 1,000 artists and more than 500 free events in three new sunlit pavilions and more than 130,000 square feet of new landscaped green space at the nation's cultural capital, the REACH opens its doors in exactly one month's time with 16 full days of creativity in action, providing artists and audiences with the opportunity to experience art as never before. Marking the first expansion at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in its 48-year history, the REACH welcomes the public with an inclusive, multi-genre, multidisciplinary Opening Festival on September 7a?"22. July 25, 2019 The best and most satisfying way to beat the heat and be delightfully entertained on a boiling hot summer day in the San Fernando Valley is to head to Marina del Rey, to Burton Chase Park on a designated Thursday to see and hear an exciting orchestra play, take in the lovely surroundings, breathe in the gentle breeze and watch dancers bring alive the superb orchestral offerings. The L A County Supervisor Janice Hahn and The Department of Beaches and Harbors has been presenting these wonderful concert gatherings for many years now, and each year they top themselves. With the amazing and animated Frank Fetta as Artistic Director and Conductor, the fabulous Marina del Rey Orchestra and Nancy Dobbs Owen, who provided the breathtaking choreography for the evening we were treated to an incredible program of music and dance. The program began as the sun began to set in these beautiful surroundings with Igor Stravinsky's (A Russian immigrant who lived in Los Angeles most of his years) Firebird Suite. Before the downbeat, Mr. Fetta recounted his own working experience with Stravinsky here in Los Angeles.

Casting has been announced for the upcoming Theatre Row premiere of The Pointe, a new work by Craig Donnelly. Kate London will take on the role of Madeline Davis, the legendary ballerina tasked with choreographing for a young dancers' summer intensive. Rounding out the cast are Blair Ely (Brooklyn Matthews), Fiona Huber (Raina Goldberg), Sabrina Karlin (Haley Edwards) and Yessenia Rivas (Jasmine Guerrero).

In the Jacob's Pillow-exclusive production Sara Mearns: Beyond Ballet, New York City Ballet principal Sara Mearns performs in multiple cross-genre collaborations in the Doris Duke Theatre, August 14-18.

The New Orleans Ballet Association announces its 2019-2020 dance season packed with stellar performances at the Mahalia Jackson Theater by four brilliant and world-renowned dance companies, including Trinity Irish Dance Company, Pilobolus in Shadowland-The New Adventure, Houston Ballet, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, plus a special Evening of Stars that continues the celebration of NOBA's 50th anniversary season.

June 29, 2019 Melissa Barak's Ballet Company, Barak Ballet, is becoming a staple at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Since 2013, they have been appearing annually and she has continually delivered her talent and creativity to her home town.  A native Santa Monican, she is now one of America's foremost rising female choreographers.  Ms. Barak spent a decade dancing for New York City Ballet and choreographing for the School and Company of American Ballet at age 22. And her tenacity has paid off.

Tosca Rivola is thrilled to present the next night of TARANTINA, taking stage July 11, 2019. Since January, the once-monthly, all-woman cabaret showcase has transformed Club Bahia into a celebration of all things Quentin Tarantino. In each event, world-class acrobats, lounge singers, burlesque performers and more pay honor to the iconic femme-fatales that have enthralled, terrified and seduced us in films like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill and beyond. Attendees enjoy special Tarantino-themed cocktails and authentic 80s dive bar atmosphere with the two-act show before dancing the night away to Tarantino soundtrack classics after the final performance. This July edition will be held several weeks before the world premiere of Tarantino's ninth film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The performance of TARANTINA will begin at 8:15pm, and the venue will close at 2am.

MoBBallet announces its first annual symposium entitled “Inspiration, Education, Perspiration,” October 11-13, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA. Hosted by Pennsylvania Ballet, the three-day symposium will focus on personal and professional development, education, and mentorship for intermediate to pre-professional level Black Ballet students.

Luminario Ballet of Los Angeles is a very unique and valuable, strong and powerful Dance Company. They offered up two fantastic evenings of Dance, Song, Music and a Q&A, last weekend at Club Fais Do Do, and this past weekend at the Skirball Center, in conjunction with a Fashion Exhibit of Rudy Gernreich's '60s fashions that tied in perfectly with the 2nd dance piece presented that evening. The costumes used in 'Inscape,' were originally created by Rudi Gernreich at the same time the piece was set, in 1976. 'Choose Your Identity' June 16, 2019 The evening began with singer Tawny Ellis and her band, performing several selections from her new upcoming album release 'Love Life.' Dressed in a beautiful, flowing, lacy white dress, she looked like an angel and sang like one, playing her matching white Lap Steel and omni chord instruments with a passionate, down-to-earth country sound that was soothingly sultry, with lyrics that commanded your attention. She and her talented band played selections from her upcoming release; one of them being 'Pretend Love,' which was accompanied by a beautiful dance, choreographed by the Artistic Director, Judith FLEX Helle, performed by the incredible Kelly Vittetoe, an extraordinary soloist, en pointe, accompanied by David Tai Kim and Cory Goel. The strongest ballerina I have ever seen, (Ms. Vittetoe) that up-close; performing magnificently, with one of the most beautiful bodies, face and feet, ever. She is exquisite, and her two partners were also equally impressive. The exactness of technique performed by all three dancers was just heavenly. Up close and personal. What a treat!

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that Principal Character Artist Lorna Geddes will retire from the company at the end of the 201819 season after a remarkable 59-year career with the National Ballet.

Montreal theatre fans, take a memo: WISTA's upcoming production, 9 to 5 The Musical is headed to the West Island. The show will run for 6 performances from June 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 PM, as well as June 15 at 1:30 PM at the Louise Chalmers Theatre (501 Boulevard St. Jeans, Pointe-Claire, QC).

Alice (Emma Brooke Levering) is a young girl who after spying a curious white rabbit in a vest and coat run into hole. Follows it down and is whisked into a seemingly never-ending adventure. The all female cast provides a wonderful "Girl Power" dynamic in the show by the Birmingham Children's Theatre.

On June 17, 2019, Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre will open the Synchronicity Annex, a new office and rehearsal space in Midtown, Atlanta. The location at 1586 Piedmont Street NE, at the corner of Piedmont Avenue NE and Monroe Drive, across from the Ansley Mall, will primarily function as a rehearsal, new play development and class venue, in addition to housing the Company's administrative offices.

On May 14th, Stage Door School of Dance was honored to welcome to the studio Danny Mefford, choreographer of Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen, Fun Home, and TV's 'Rise'. Dancers were offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform and receive feedback on their competition and recital numbers from Mr. Mefford, in addition to an inspirational and riveting Q&A session.

Emmy ® Award-winners RuPaul and World of Wonder ("RuPaul's Drag Race," "Million Dollar Listing," upcoming documentaries "STONEWALL OUTLOUD" and "Liberty: Mother of Exiles") hosted the fifth annual and largest ever RuPaul's DragCon LA at the Los Angeles Convention Center this weekend. Attendees from 44 different countries mixed and mingled with over 75 of the world's top Drag Queens and other talent at the massively successful drag and pop culture convention. RuPaul's DragCon NYC tickets are now on sale for the weekend of September 6th-8th, and the convention returns to Los Angeles May 1st-3rd, 2020.

The eighth annual Blumenthal Performing Arts High School Musical Theater Awards culminated Sunday, May 19th, at a gala award celebration where winners in 15 categories were announced and nominees for Best Actor, Best Actress and Wells Fargo Best Musical performed live on stage at Belk Theater. The Blumey Awards were presented by Wells Fargo.

New York City Ballet (NYCB) has gone through some changes in the past year. In an interview with Jonathan Stafford, Artistic Director, and Wendy Whelan, Associate Artistic Director, Whelan said, 'Change is hard, but change is natural. It's not always easy, but it is informative. And ultimately, it's healthy. It's part of life.'

East West Players' Producing Artistic Director Snehal Desai sharply directs his en pointe cast in a crowd-rousing production of non-stop Abba hits, the most joyous MAMMA MIA! Choreographer Preston Mui has created intricate, very FUN dance routines, deftly executed by all.
