The New York Philharmonic has launched Mahler's New York: A Digital Festival (April 16-30) today. The two-week celebration invites online audiences to explore the life and work of the composer / conductor who served as their tenth Music Director.

The New York Philharmonic will present Mahler's New York: A Digital Festival - a two-week celebration of the composer / conductor who spent time in New York as the Philharmonic's tenth Music Director (1909-11) - April 16-30, 2020, at nyphil.org/mahlerny.

Soprano Cheryl Warfield will present 'Dynamic Divas II: Stories of African-American Sopranos Who Inspire and Enrich,' on Sunday, March 29th at 4 PM at Advent Lutheran Church, 2504 Broadway at West 93rd Street on the Upper West Side. The opera concert pays homage to legendary prima donna assolutta Leontyne Price and is the second in a series of lecture recital programs focusing on the artistic and trailblazing contributions of Black opera singers. Cheryl is a New York City based opera singer, educator, and concert producer who has performed over 15 lead operatic roles in New York and throughout Europe. She will be accompanied by concert pianist Olga Gurevich.

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 14th Annual Car Show and Street Festival on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. Look for over 200 muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the Avenue, with street vendors, rack sales, kids' activities, live music and the Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show in between.  Wine and dine among the cars as award-winning restaurants and food trucks serve specially priced street food and summertime drinks. Admission is FREE for attendees and $20 for cars. Fantasy Theatre Factory invites you to join South Florida Theatre League for Student Stages of the Sun: Plays by Student Playwrights at the Sandrell Rivers Theater. The National Board of Review announced today that it will release its 2019 honorees on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. The gala to celebrate this year's group of lauded filmmakers will take place on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. The celebration will be held at Cipriani's 42nd Street in New York City, where it has taken place for over a decade. NBC News and MSNBC's Willie Geist will return to host the evening.

The artistic evolution of an iconic American modernist is the focus of an exhibition now open at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers. Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work explores the artist's intuitive draftsmanship and innovative work in watercolors. A revelatory look at Marin's work, the exhibition affords a unique opportunity to vicariously watch an artist inspired by his surroundings and responding through drawing. On April 11, the Zimmerli presents a talk about Marin by Josephine Rodgers, who received her Ph.D. in Art History from Rutgers and currently is the Marcia Brady Tucker Fellow in American Paintings and Sculpture at the Yale University Art Gallery.
