Cleveland Play House (CPH) brings to life Lynn Nottage's complex story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rust Belt drama Sweat.  Set in Reading, PA, this relevant story offers audience members suspense through its intricate portrayal of characters battling to survive in a city crippled by economic stagnation. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley will direct. Previews begin on October 13th, with press opening on October 19th at the Outcalt Theatre in Playhouse Square. Catskill's beloved Flo Hayle returns to the director's chair for a two-weekend run of Alfred Uhry's heart-warming 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama "Driving Miss Daisy", parking itself at Bridge Street Theatre for eight performances only, Thursdays through Sundays from October 11-21, 2018.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. L.A. Theatre Works has announced its 2018-19 season of seven plays, each to be recorded in front of a live audience for future radio broadcast and online distribution. All performances take place at the James Bridges Theater, located on the campus of UCLA in West Los Angeles. In addition, the company will introduce audiences to its signature style of radio theater at venues across the country during its 15th national tour.

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, acclaimed actor and director Brian Murray, who worked extensively on and off Broadway for more than fifty years, passed away from natural causes at the age of 80.

Perhaps if Clifford Odets' landmark pro-union drama, WAITING FOR LEFTY, hadn't opened the year before, Lillian Hellman's 1936 labor drama, DAYS TO COME, the sophomore Broadway effort of the playwright who made a huge name for herself two years earlier with THE CHILDREN'S HOUR, might have been better received.

Citadel Theatre today announced casting for its upcoming production of Lillian Hellman's THE LITTLE FOXES - the first Chicago-area production of this classic since last year's Broadway revival that earned six Tony Award nominations and two wins, including one for Cynthia Nixon as Actress in a Featured Role - Play.

Mint Theater will open Days to Come by Lillian Hellman on Sunday August 26th. Performances have been extended through October 6th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).
