Citadel Announces Cast of THE LITTLE FOXES

Citadel Theatre today announced casting for its upcoming production of Lillian Hellman's THE LITTLE FOXES - the first Chicago-area production of this classic since last year's Broadway revival that earned six Tony Award nominations and two wins, including one for Cynthia Nixon as Actress in a Featured Role - Play. This drama by Lillian Hellman - arguably the most influential female American playwright of the 20th Century - explores a power struggle between members of a wealthy Alabama family in 1900, where the men have all the power and influence. Or at least they think they do - the men of the Hubbard family may have met their match in the brilliantly ruthless matriarch Regina Hubbard Giddens.

Citadel's Regina will be Jeff award-nominated actress Saren Nofs Snyder, who has played such iconic roles as Masha in THREE SISTERS (with Piven Theatre), Mrs. Helen Alving in GHOSTS (with BoHo Theatre) and her Jeff-nominated performance as Mrs. Laura Cheveley in AN IDEAL HUSBAND (Circle Theatre). The cast will also include Citadel Theatre Artistic Director Scott Phelps (THE EXPLORERS CLUB with Citadel) and Thomas J. Thomas (Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL with Steel Beam Theatre) as Regina's brothers Oscar and Benjamin Hubbard; Alicia Kahn (roles with Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Great Lakes Theater Festival) as Birdie Hubbard; Tim Walsh (FORUM with Citadel, A SOLDIER'S PLAY with Raven) as Horace Giddens,; Ryan Leonard (THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY with City Lit) as Leo Hubbard; Anna Civik (TWELFTH NIGHT with Midsommer Flight, A WRINKLE IN TIME, u/s, with Lifeline) as Alexandra Giddens, Terri Lynne Hudson (iO, the Annoyance) as Addie and William Anthony Rose (YOU TOOK AWAY MY FLAG with Strawdog) as Cal.

Kristina McCloskey, Associate Artist with Dandelion Theatre, will direct. Her production team will include Eric Luchen (Scenic Designer), Amanda Vander Byl (Costume Designer), Bob Boxer (Sound Designer), Mark Holley (Production Manager/Properties Designer), Samantha Tink and Edward Kuffert (Stage Managers).

Season subscriptions and single show tickets to THE LITTLE FOXES are on sale now at www.citadeltheatre.org. Single ticket prices are $40-$45 (discounts for seniors, students and military) and $20.00 for previews. Subscriptions are available either for the full four-show season or as flex passes that can be used for the patron's choice of two shows for $65.00 or three shows for $95.00 or all four shows for $120.00.
