Seattle Center Festál: CroatiaFest Set for 10/23
Seattle Center Festál: CroatiaFest offers exploration and insights into the culture of this southeast European country at the crossroads of the Balkans and Adriatic Sea, Sunday, Oct. 23, 12 noon - 8 p.m., in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
Join in folkdance lessons and a dance party, learn the art of Croatian cuisine and wine tasting and purchase your favorite ethnic crafts and products. Acclaimed dance ensembles and musicians, intricate costumes, art exhibits, tourist information and historical displays showcase Croatia's rich past and dynamic present. Special guests and events this year include performances by Croatian music and dance ensembles on the main stage:· Sinovi Tamburitza Orchestra from Chicago, IL.

· Seattle Junior TamburitizansThe gallery will display art pieces by several local Croatian artists. Display panels will carry on the theme of the festival by giving a visual history of Croatian-owned restaurants and food-related businesses in the Northwest. Croatian fraternal organizations and social clubs will round out the displays.

This year you will be able to enjoy the very popular Croatian imported beer Karlova?ko Pivo in the beer and wine garden. The garden will feature wines from Sunce Winery along with a variety of wines from other Croatian-owned vintners for tasting.
The 21 Seattle Center Festál cultural celebrations highlight The Common forms of tradition and expression among ethnic communities in the Pacific Northwest, while underscoring their unique creative contributions, customs, foods and ideals. Each event offers moving entertainment and fascinating insight into a different culture of the world.
