The Old Globe presents a revival of J.B. Priestley's period classic Time and the Conways. Directed by Rebecca Taichman, Time and the Conways will run March 29 - May 4, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. TCG National Conference in San Diego to 'Cross Borders' Between Cultures, 6/19-21; Heads to Tijuana

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces that Crossing Borders will be the theme of the 24th annual TCG National Conference in San Diego from June 19 to 21, 2014. In addition to challenging both the practical and conceptual barriers to strengthening the theatre field's vitality, literal borders will also be crossed when attendees journey to Tijuana, Mexico to engage with local artists and culture. This multi-day, international event will draw more than 1,000 theatre professionals from around the world for artistic and intellectual exchange through meetings, speeches and performances. Lauded theatre performer and playwright Taylor Mac will be one of the featured presenters, with more speakers to be announced soon.

Actors Alliance of San Diego is seeking submissions for new musicals for our Musical Theatre Intensive and Musical Theatre Academy 2014 Showcases. AASD is launching an updated version of our MTI and MTA programs to provide up-and-coming theater writers with the opportunity, space and resources to develop and showcase new family-friendly musicals. In addition, we nurture and educate aspiring young actors through educational programming, rehearsals and performances of these original works.
La Jolla Playhouse's Next 'Without Walls' Production Is EL HENRY, Running 6/14-29

Following its hugely successful Without Walls (WoW) Festival last October, La Jolla Playhouse announces the latest production in its acclaimed site-based theatre series: El Henry, written by and starring Culture Clash's Herbert Siguenza, directed by San Diego REPertory Theatre Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse. Presented in association with San Diego REP, the show will run June 14 - 29 at SILO in downtown San Diego's Makers Quarter. Performances run Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30pm.

The Old Globe today announced it will present two Shakespeare-themed events. On Monday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m., Tony Award winner Roger Rees will return to the Globe for a one-night-only engagement of What You Will, his hysterical (and somewhat historical) 90-minute gallop through the world of Shakespeare. On Saturday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m., Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein will offer an encore of Thinking Shakespeare Live!, his 90-minute exploration of the language of Shakespeare. This fast-paced, funny, and altogether fascinating program based on Edelstein's book, Thinking Shakespeare: A How-To Guide for Student Actors, Directors, and Anyone Else Who Wants to Feel More Comfortable with the Bard, reveals a performer's approach to Shakespearean language so audiences may easily understand the poetry of the Bard.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, and Blue Star Families, the country's largest chapter-based military families non-profit organization, have announced that 108 theatres in 35 states have now joined the Blue Star Theatres program. In partnership between TCG and Blue Star Families, with support from MetLife Foundation, Blue Star Theatres connects a variety of theatre offerings to military personnel and their families across the United States. This initiative recognizes the profound contributions of service families and seeks to build stronger connections between theatres, military families and their communities through unique programming, special discounts and more.

Two special events have been announced for this summer at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. The Moonlight Cultural Foundation will present THE MIDTOWN MEN in a special concert performance on Sat., July 5. Making their West Coast debut, THE MIDTOWN MEN features four of the original cast members of The Jersey Boys in concert showcasing favorite hits of the 1960s. In advance of Moonlight Stage Productions' MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT this summer, the theatre will present a free screening of the hit movie the musical is based on: MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL. The film will be shown on a large screen on the Moonlight stage.
