Theatre Unleashed is Headed to San Diego

For the first time in its six-plus year history, Theatre Unleashed will take two shows on the road to San Diego! Both the acclaimed drama Friends Like These and the wildly popular 25 Plays Per Hour will follow up their runs at the upcoming Hollywood Fringe Festival this June by participating in the San Diego International Fringe Festival, running July 3-13.

The two shows display the wide range of talent and storytellers that make up Theatre Unleashed. The critically praised Friends Like These is no stranger to the Fringe spotlight, having been produced previously at the 2010 Hollywood and New York International Fringe Festivals. Friends Like These follows a very particular group of kids and what happens when the secrets, lies and deception between them spiral out of control, exploding into violence and tragedy.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, 25 Plays Per Hour has become a TU mainstay over the past several years. In this current edition, called The Best of 25 Plays Per Hour, Theatre Unleashed has assembled 25 of their best super-short plays into one incredible hour of lightning-quick entertainment. 25PPH fuses comedy, drama and everything in between, taking patrons on a unique and wild theatrical roller-coaster.

Both productions will open in Los Angeles as a part of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe before transferring to San Diego for two weekends.

"The San Diego International Fringe Festival represents a new challenge for us, as well as a wonderful new circle of talented artists to befriend. We can't wait!"

25 Plays Per Hour performs Saturday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m.; Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m.; Saturday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Spreckels Theatre - Fringe Off Broadway at 923 1st Ave. General admission is $10.

Friends Like These performs Saturday, July 5, Sunday, July 6, Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. All performances begin at 6:30 p.m. at Bread & Salt / Art Pulse at 1955 Julian Ave., San Diego, CA 92113
