Nutcracker the Mousical at Old Town Temecula Theater

Temecula’s Old Town Theater is proud to present a limited engagement of  “Nutcracker - The Mousical” from May 8 through May 10, 2026. This musical reimagines Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker music and features lyrics and book by successful screenwriter Bobbi Boes and children’s book author Beverly Stephenson. Broadway veteran Don York and rising musical composer Grande Coles have adapted the music.

The musical is set in the town of Hamelin in the 1800s, where Clara, the goddaughter of inventor and Pied Piper Drosselmeir, must find a way to bring back the village children who have been transported to a magical land along with the mice. This is NOT your mother’s Nutcracker! There are no dancing sugar plums and you definitely won’t like the mice.  But if you must come, then beware, the Land of Sweets is about to be invaded, and they have no idea. 

The production promises to be a treat for both children and adults alike as they follow Clara’s journey to save the children from being trapped forever in a fantasy land where mice rule and children slowly turn into candy. Time is running out for both the children and the ticket buying public.  This production is a classic in the making.
