Trainspotting, adapted from the Irvine Welsh novel by Harry Gibson,
the story of Mark Renton and his friends in the Edinburgh heroin scene of the eighties. The generation defining novel has been called “the voice of punk, grown up, grown wiser and grown eloquent.”
Trainspotting is a funny and scabrous look at a group of friends in Edinburgh, as they struggle to cope with unemployment, alcoholism and drug addiction. It is at once hilarious, heart-rending, but sometimes horrific. The action takes place over the course of one summer, in the bedsits, bars and drug-dens of Edinburgh.
