Artists Rep Extends LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT to 9/5

Due to robust advance ticket sales Artists Repertory Theatre will extend the run of Long Day's Journey Into Night until September 5. The world-class production of Long Day's Journey Into Night comes to Portland, Oregon after playing to sold out houses for five weeks in Sydney, Australia. Artists Repertory Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company bring this Broadway-caliber international collaboration to Portland for a three-week engagement. Opening Night is August 14, 2010, with one preview performance August 13, 2010. Long Day's Journey Into Night runs August 13-September 5, 2010 at the Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon.

Nicole, fresh from her one year stay in the mental hospital, has renewed energy and purpose and plans to break her mother out of her staid routine life.

CoHo is excited to bring two guest speakers to its LIVE GIRLS production this Sunday, July 25. We're bringing in Sexuality Consultant, M.Makael Newby, author of My Erotic Adventure. Remember choose-your-own-adventure books? Makael wrote the adult version. We've also scored Eleanor O'Brien, artistic director of Dance Naked Productions, a theatre company focused on creating theatre centered around issues of sexuality. If you're lucky, you may also catch one of the delicious ensemble members from the very 'sexcessful' Inviting Desire 2010.
Island Stage Left Presents HENRY V In Wold, 7/16-25

Island Stage Left continues their tour of the 'Shakespeare Under the Stars' series with HENRY V, opening in Wold (1062 Wold Rd) on Friday, July 16th. The production already performed in Orcas, Waldron, Shaw, and Lopez and after closing at Wold on July 25th, will continued to Roche from July 29th to August 22nd. Admission is free but donations are welcomed. Performances in Wold run Fridays through Sundays at 8:15 PM. It is suggested to dress warmly and bring a blanket.

Portland Center Stage is holding its first summer cabaret series, Gavin & Susannah: An Intimate Evening of Musical Theater, featuring Gavin Gregory and Susannah Mars with musical director Rick Lewis. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from July 7-23, 2010. All tickets will be $25.00 each, plus applicable handling fees. Due to the special ticket price, there will be no under 30 discounts or rush tickets offered. Tickets are now on sale at http://www.pcs.org/gavin-susannah/.

This Sunday, 7/18, at 2p.m. will feature the hottest show Portland has to offer: we remove the veil of secrecy that surrounds a most intimate space: the locker room of a strip club. The play touches on domestic violence and sexual assault and challenges the biases of the legal sex industry. As such CoHo has arranged a special post-show question and answer session following the Sunday matinee performance. Joining us is: Crystal Tenty, representing the Sex Worker Outreach Coalition. Sarah Keefe, representing the Domestic Violence Resource Center. Natalie Schraner, specializing in the sex industry for the Portland Women's Crisis Line. Elisa Saphier, case manager for Sexually Exploited Youth with the Sexual Assault Resource Center.
