Gala Celebration Raises Support for Portland Acting Conservatory 11/6

Portland Actors Conservatory will host a Gala Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6:00pm to help raise money for its programs. The event will be held at the Scottish Rite Center, 709 SW 15th St. Portland, Ore., 97201. Admission to the event includes dinner, beverages and musical entertainment from local composer/pianist, Michael Allen Harrison.

"After 25 years, and having recently achieved such milestones as accreditation and recognition of our full-time actor training program nationally, we have a lot to celebrate." said Nurella Doumitt, executive director of Portland Actors Conservatory. "This event gives us an opportunity to thank our new and old supporters, and look to our community to help us take the next, critical steps in providing top quality professional acting training."

Michael Allen Harrison has performed for President Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Quincy Jones and the Dalai Lama, and been the opening act for the Celebrity Forum Speaker Series highlighting Walter Cronkite, Jerry Spence, Margaret Thatcher, Jerry Lewis, Colin Powell, Jan Schlichtman and James Whitmore. His recorded works include "Christmas Reunion," "Mike and Tanner ‘Simple Gifts,'" "Tango," "Songs of Mary - At the Grotto" and others.

ABOUT PORTLAND ACTORS CONSERVATORY
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Portland Actors Conservatory is the premiere school for professional actor training in the Pacific Northwest. Artistic director Beth Harper leads the Conservatory's multiple offerings including its fulltime, Two Year Professional Training Program, ongoing Studio Class offerings, and the Summer on Stage youth theatre program. Portland Actors Conservatory provides the highest standard in actor training with distinguished faculty including Beth Harper, Connor Kerns, Philip Cuomo, and Michael Mendelson among others.
