Rex Theater Presents MUSICAL OF THE LIVING DEAD, 5/4-5

Chicago's "Best New Play", Musical of the Living Dead is spreading its infectious "Musical Zom-com" (zombie comedy) to the historic Rex Theater. Musical of the Living Dead is an original musical parody of classic zombie films and musical theatre. Featuring music inspired by everything from Gershwin to Green Day, Musical of the Living Dead follows the lives of ten very different people trapped in a farmhouse during the breakout of a zombie apocalypse - all brought together seeking refuge from a ravenous horde of brain-eating (and dancing) zombies.
2nd Annual CLOE Award to be Presented at the Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball

The Pittsburgh CLO Guild today announced that Marie Ganassi will be honored with the 2nd Annual CLOE Award for Community Service at the 57th Annual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball on June 2 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel. The CLOE award was established in 2011 to recognize and celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to our community.

From rave reviews when the play premiered on Broadway to Oscar winning performances on screen, A Streetcar Named Desire has now been re-imagined as a ballet. Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) presents a portrayal of clashing cultures in John Neumeier's ballet of Tennessee William's stage play through March 11 at the Benedum Center. This is the first time Neumeier's creation will be performed by an American company and only the second time it's been performed in the U.S. The only other U.S. troops that have danced John Neumeier productions were the American Ballet Theatre (of NY) and the San Francisco Ballet -- two of the largest companies in the U.S.

Pittsburgh CLO has announced the creative team for the 2012 Summer Season, running June 5 through August 5 at the Benedum Center. Three Pittsburgh CLO veterans and one newcomer highlight this group selected to helm the organization's 66th year of bringing Broadway's best to Pittsburgh's Cultural District. The season includes the National Tour of Come Fly Away (June 5-10), A Chorus Line (June 15-24), Annie(June 29-July 8), Fiddler on the Roof (July 13-22), Sunset Boulevard (July 24-29) and the National Tour of The Addams Family (July 31-August 5).
