Slip on your ruby slippers and follow the yellow brick road with Dorothy. It’s an exciting, musical adventure as Dorothy and Toto take advice from the Good Witch, wander through Munchkin land and try to outrun the Wicked Witch on their way to find the Wizard of Oz. Help the Scarecrow get his brain, the Tin Man have a heart, the Cowardly Lion find some courage and get Dorothy back home to Kansas in this classic family story.

A new play exploring the life and poetry of America’s first published Black poet Phillis Wheatley, Written by Phillis is presented in association with Chicago’s New Classics Collective, opens tonight, May 13. Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic theatre, will continue Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with William Shakespeare's The Tempest, thought to be one of his final and finest plays, this fantastical romantic comedy celebrates empathy and reconciliation. Underwritten by the National Endowment for the Arts and Arts Midwest Shakespeare in American Communities Grant, The Tempest, directed by Quintessence Artistic Director Alexander Burns is now extended through April 2.

The repertory starts previews March 16, with an Opening Weekend Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26.
