There is nothing more powerful than experiencing a performance of Verdi’s Requiem by the breathtaking forces of symphony orchestra and 150 voices.
An honest portrayal of the complex emotions associated with loss, the Requiem contains music which is sweepingly operatic one moment and powerfully intimate the next. In his final concerts as Principal Conductor, Paul Daniel leads the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, WASO Chorus and a stellar cast of soloists for two performances of Verdi’s Requiem in December.
Verdi is to music what Shakespeare is to theatre: the deepest universal truths expressed with intense, direct sincerity Paul Daniel, WASO Principal Conductor & Artistic Adviser
